I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. NB, stalking VPHM for a possible DT. I caught it Friday and will see if I can play it tomorrow. I’m not opening any swings for now until I get a clear pic of direction.
Not optimistic of the direction right now. The high oil price is going to make the correction pretty violent this week, I think.
New-Born,
Is this latest wave of future increases in natl. gas and heating oil going to make some cans more attractive?
billyjoe
BillyJoe,
The Cans are so overpriced, that if you don't own them already, you'd best not touch them until we have a severe pullback. PMT.un, which usually trades for $16, is $20.65. And the exchange rate, usually .79 or.80, had been .8350.
BUT: my view is buy all these you can at the next severe pullback--if there is such a thing.
Daily channel long (expanding), bouncing off solid daily vol by price, with inverted pattern to confirm (see chart).
Long 20.00 or better, stop at 19.50, target 25.43. r/r of 11, target 27% risk 2.5%
I generally run from stock tips , but I met a guy who is a stockbroker and heavily invested in (BCON) Beacon power inc . Vector Vest gives it a buy , but of course its fundamentals are poor.....although the stock's Growth Rate is good. Spike what is your take on this one......or is anyone familiar with this one?
The chart right now looks good but who knows?
Here's the latest that I have on the market direction:

What does the Trend of Advancing Issues tell you about the Stock Market?
The trend of Advancing Issues is an important key for any investor ... Here's why:
Think about what is occurring when "more and more stocks keep advancing to new highs".
When it happens, it is telling us that investors are continuing to chase stocks ... even as they keep rising higher. This kind of investor behavior propels the market higher until "reluctance and fear sets in" as investors start to feel that price levels are getting too high.
So, when Advancing Issues stop rising and start declining, that is the sign that investors are pulling
in their reins and are stopping their "stock chasing behavior". If fewer and fewer investors keep chase rising stocks, then a rally in the stock market will slow down ... and then the balance of power will shift from Buyers to Sellers.
With that understanding, let us now look at our Advancing Issues Trend Model to see what it is currently
saying about investor behavior.
On the very top of the chart, are Red and Green trend lines for Advancing Issues. When the Red line
drops below the Green line, then Advancing Issues start to trend down ... and along with it, the market
drops lower. As you can see at label 6, Advancing Issues are now trending down.
The Black trend line just below that is our Advancing Issues Time Trended Indicator. This serves as a
useful confirmation tool about the directional change of Advancing Issues. Currently, it is moving down
and just broke below a support line.
When you look at the price of the S&P 500 right below it, it has still managed to stay ABOVE its
support line. This creates a situation where it will be very difficult for the S&P to hold this support
unless Advancing Issues start to rise again.
Today, I would like to ask you for a special favor. If you enjoy our daily stock market updates,
would you help us and tell some of your friends and co-workers about it? I would truly appreciate it.
To make it easy, there is a "send this page to a friend link" just below this chart. It is done with
complete privacy as we don't know who you send it to. Many Thanks ... Marty Chenard.

Pete--
The only question to ask is this: is it up volume, or down volume? If it is up volume, then you have INSTITUTIONAL buying. Some smart money guy with billions of $$ thinks BCON is a double or ten-bagger. So he's buying mega shares.
If it is red volume, that means the rats are jumping overboard, and the ship is in peril.
So if I were you, I'd be buying right now, and in a few days, the reason for the buying will become apparent. Weak acting stocks will be the same, except you ought to be selling.
