Boston Marathon has been postponed to Monday, September 14th. Governor will file legislation to make that a state holiday, which Monday April 15th is. Could be hot in September (sometimes its hot in April).

The NCAA cancelled all remaining winter championships (track was to begin tomorrow in New Mexico) and also all the spring championships. I attend a lot of local college events in the spring. Doubt there will be much. Harvard is attending classes via internet and leaving campus, possibly other schools have too. If you're not on campus you can't practice and therefore can't play, I would think.

NBA just cancelled all games indefinitely. This is a bad situation, and the panic is incredible.

Yes, he was, still, he made it this far and even top his personal best from his previous performances. Hoping to see more of Jacob Riley soon, man's really made a major comeback from his last performance way back 2016.Originally posted by Louetta View PostI enjoyed it. Nice to see Jacob Riley qualify who I believe is unsponsored. Good for Abdi at age 43. Nice to see the ascendancy of Seidel. Would have been nice to see Desiree Linden get there but then Kipyego has to lose out.

I think I'll just ignore this altogether. It's so complicated it's giving me a headache trying to unravel it.

You will be pleased to learn that the rule qualifying many males but only a few females for prize money in The Boston Marathon has been changed to make the genders equal.Originally posted by riverbabe View Post
Well maybe you'll be pleased. In fact what they have done in not to enfranchise more women but instead to disenfranchise many men. Now for both genders only those who start in the top groups will qualify for prize money.

Very interesting read. Amazingly bad public relations considering John Hancock is involved. They should have announced this at the post-race press conference. Did anyone really think they could NOT give those women the money?Originally posted by riverbabe View Post

The shame is the storm didn't really start til about 3AM and is due to stop at about 10PM. Timing could not have been worse. By the end of the week it's supposed to be 60 degrees or more.

Louetta, I never saw and rarely heard mention of most of the regular suspects... and the Japanese guy seemed to appear as if by magic in the waning minutes of the race. What rotten conditions.
