I thought it would be fun to have a thread about future trends and technolgies which could prove to be profitable or enhance our trading methods. I hope that this is an appropriate topic. I believe it is, as many new technologies led to huge profits for the investors that had the foresight to invest in them.
One good example was Microsoft. For anyone who bought Microsoft at around $15 - $20, and held, the profits were enormous. AOL was one that I wanted to invest in, but I was too broke at the time to do so.
So...Let me share my vision. One new technology that I believe is going to be hot is Satellite radio. Sirius and XM are the two players in this field and the growth potential is enormous. As far as which is the best...make your own decisions. I see Satellite radio becoming commonplace. As a matter of fact, most of the automakers are offering satellite radio as an option in 2005 year model cars. Currently, there are about 2.5 million subscribers. Ten years from now the numbers are projected to be in the tens of millions.
