What's your preferred way to get messages from this group?

I have had some requests to see about having forum messages delivered directly as email...there may or may not be a way to do this..and we need to be careful what we wish for as some posters have a habit of being somewhat prolific....so here's the poll:
    1
I like perusing the website only
    0%
    0
    I like receiving emails only
    0%
    0
I like perusing the website but want to be notified about new messages in specific threads, then be able to go to the website to read them
    0%

This board really sucks, but I don't know how to unsubscribe

Yahoo had a "special notice" function that allowed me to issue emails just as you suggested...I'm sure Karel will be all over this like flies on sugar.

Sending emails to all users .. Or a Usergroup

        Ernie,

Log in as you (administrator privs)

        1) Bottom of page go to administration menu..
        2) Under General Admin select MASS Email
        3) Select All Users
        3) Type Email (cut/paste etc)
        4) Click "EMAIL"

We all get the Announcement of the top 5 picks..

You can also add people to a USERGROUP and send only to that
        Group.

At the moment, that solves the problem..

For right now, sending the mass Email of your Picks after you
post it gets the job done.

            For the future..

I have this same software running and I am modifying it to be able to send a mass email out of a Specific Post..

An Administrator would have an option when creating the email to select "Enable Mass Mailing" (it will be an option where you see the options to attach your signature, Disable Smilies etc)
[ ] Disable BBCode in this post
[ ] Disable Smilies in this post
[X] Send this post to all Subscribed Users
[X] Attach signature (signatures can be changed in profile)
[X] Notify me when a reply is posted
The system would then send that post out to all subscribed users or users that had joined a particular Usergroup

I think posting the top 5 /10 stock picks on a special alert and then the final pick is a Capital Idea. Butch

                An email would be great.

Sometimes I get too busy and a pop up email for the big Five and winner would let me know to head for this site...Thanks!

                  Send the posts by e-mail

Send the posts by e-mail its easier when the posts come to us
                  imo )

I just got the top 5 and the final pick in my e-mail. I like that. I would not like, however, to get general posts in my e-mail. If Ernie or Karel thinks a topic is important for the entire group, I'm cool with that.

Getting the Top 5 and other important information is just right for me. In a busy spell I don't always remember to get to the board.

This way too the information is right there on my computer when I want it.

                      Thanks Ernie. You are HUGE!

I'm going to take this poll down now....what I'll continue to do is email my top 5, my buys and my sells.

All other posts, with the exception of some very special notices, will be read via web only.
