I like to catch shellcaracker and bass in my backyard
FL strain LRG Mouth Bass? I have always wanted to catch a 10 lbs + Large Mouth... ever since reading Doug Hannon's Hot Bass! as a little kid. The best I've done so far was probably about 7 lbs which is a monster for Iowa. I released it so the weight is only an estimate. A 100 lbs Taimen or Tarpon someday is another goal. Oh, and I forgot about my Grander fantasy (Blue Marlin).

There are some very large shellcracker and decent bass fishing. Have you ever hit that lake in VA with the Florida strain Largemouth? I forget what it is called.

I have cousins out here in WA state that are into Steelhead fishing. That reminds me to give them a call this weekend.

    Ski,

I moved to Point Pleasant from Freehold when I was in fouth grade. Moved to Toms River (Fairways at bay lea) for a year and a half when they first went up. Then bought a house in brick about six years ago after being outbid on a bunch in Point. I live by the 70 bridge. The better side of brick.

Check this out. The largest salmonid in the World. It can grow to over 6 feet and 200 lbs. It eats small mammals that enter the water and is only found in fast moving rivers.

That's hard to beat.

I once speared a 10.9lb grouper..... took me about 4 dives without a tank at 25 ft deep because the punk kept going from one cave like reef to another abut 15 feet away. I got him though... very tasty and was enough for a party of four that night.
