      Kickers

Some other derriere kickers so far today: PARL, WIRE, NMGC ...

Edit: Unfortunately, WIRE has also fallen victim to big gap up in opening price.

No matter. The important thing is that I put up real money on SGG about a week and a half ago.

Ahhh, so you did. That is one reason I request that any change in position is made with a new post rather than an edit of an existing one. This becomes particularly important during trading hours! If there's ever any ambiguity as to which trade was placed when, due to an edit of an existing post, then the default trade will be the one to the participant's disadvantage. I strongly discourage the practice of changing a position post during market hours, and it's better during off-market hours to avoid it as well.

Now, knowing the way Doug operates, he would probably try to find a loophole in the system, knowing that there's about a 5-minute window after a post that it can be edited without the little "last edited" time stamp showing up under it. Well, let me just say right up front, if I ever catch anyone trying to abuse that little loophole, they will be restricted from participation for a minimum of five weeks, during which time they will accrue the standard 5% penalty each week. In other words: don't try it!

                The Law

                Well, Scifos, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Y'know?

Hey Diogenes, thanks for your honesty in pointing out the change, as BID happens to be doing much better so far than ATI.

Rob, you can have the posts emailed to you and catch any cheaters that way.

If this happens I vote for a lifetime POTW ban. Learn from Pete Rose....

Yeah, I could, but I don't want to, as I don't really expect anyone, including Doug, to try to cheat. I only used Doug as an example, because he cracks me up the way he will sniff out a loophole if there is one.

Wow, you're even thougher than I am. Don't get me started on Pete Rose. His "punishment" for betting on baseball games is one of the most unjust things that has ever come to pass in the history of sports. It would be one thing if he was secretly betting against his own team and purposely throwing the game, but unless I've been misinformed, Charlie Hustle never bet against his own team, let alone do anything to bring about a loss. More hits than anyone in the history of the game and not in the hall of fame? That's a joke, and not a funny one either. Nowadays you got guys like Barry Bonds runnin' around threatening the Babe's home run stats and using steroids left and right, and they're still in the game! Pete Rose isn't even allowed to go into a ball field anywhere. If, as the psychological community claims, compulsive gambling is an illness, then Pete Rose has been banned from baseball for being sick! Man that ticks me off.

That's it, folks. The Monday closing bell has rung, and the POTW for the week of May 8 is now officially ...

                      ... to any more players.

Well...I'll take the "Loophole" comment as a compliment...Sure I know you can edit a post...I would never do that in a contest and anyone caught doing it to cheat should be banned for life IMO...In fact, I don't edit any of my posts unless I see a typo. Also, anyone going back and changing some pix they put up in any post days ago should be banned too.

But I didn't know there was a 5 min grace period...Just went back to my May 4th MoMo post and wrote "testing edit feature"...You are right...the edit time does show up...Actually, that is good to know that peple can't go back and change their posts...In fact, I think the edit time should show up even if you edit within 1 second...There should be no grace period...Doug(IIC)

                            Week 19 (6), Day 1

Okay, here we go. Lyehopper scored a TDWEP right off the bat with a HUGE play on PARL, you know, that company that sells the Paris Hilton skank ho water.

Doug's Tesco Corp. (TESOF) is a bunch o' Kanucks who make stuff for oil drillers, and evidently are doing it well, becuase it was good enough for Mr. E-Fresh to rack up an FG.

Ol' Scifos' SGL Carbon (SGG) is a company that makes graphite and carbon products for aerospace and industry. The company was founded in 1872, so I reckon they know what they're doing, having survived 134 years, including two world wars--and that's something, considering they're a bunch o' Krauts.
