    Pick Of The Year Contest

Anyone up for a "Pick of the Year" contest?

Or maybe we already have one and I missed it???

Anyway, if anyone is interested in a Long Term Call...You can post your pick here no later than BEFORE the markets open on Monday January 9th. We will use the opening price per Yahoo on the next market "OPEN" after you pick it(Unless the price is obviously way off at Yahoo in which case I'll get it from the exchange).

I will donate a nice prize to the winner and some chintzy prizes to #2 and #3.

    RULES:

Must hold all year...We will use the close on the last trading day of 2006.

    I'll adjust for splits.

    Dividends don't count.

Stock must be listed on NYSE, AMEX, Naz NM or Naz SC...NO Bulletin Boards or Pink Sheets. No price restriction as long as it is listed on one of those when you pick it.

In the event of a merger or takeover I will do my best to figure out the value.

If the stock is halted at the close on the last trading day of the year...YOU LOSE...No questions asked.

ETF's OK as long as they are listed as indicated above.

I will post an update about once a week.

    Anyone interested???

      Doug,
My pick doesn't get much publicity, that's the type of stock I'm looking for. No one loves it and nobody hates it. You might say "why would you pick that"? A little leather never hurt anyone : TLF I own it in real life and wouldn't be surprised to see it double this year.

            Doug,
This is just one pick, no pressure like portfolio would be.

This should be interesting. Even though I believe that large caps will fare well in 2k6, I think this company with Ohio ties will do well - ENER.

                            Photon,
WFMI is a nice pick for the next week, at the very least. Pays a massive dividend--$4.30!--and the ex-date is January 11th. I like this one.

                              NB,

Will the div be half of that because of the split?
