      INFA made it

Glad to see INFA made the cut -- It is /was my POTW stock, but
it has much more room to run in the intermediate term.

Hope it makes the Fab 5.

My Little Brain Dump On The Whatever-It-Is Day Dump

Thanks for the dump, Ernie!!! I wish I had time to thoroughly check 'em all out, but I don't. So I'll post a few thoughts here on some of the lower P/E issues.

Of those companies with earnings over the last 12 months that are not over-the-counter or pink sheets, Brazil Fund (BZF) has the lowest P/E right around 4. It's an ETF that tries to keep at least 70% of its assets in Brazilian companies. I do kind of like that one. (If you like ETFs based on booming int'l markets, check out EWY too!)

Speaking of Brazil, Gerdau (GGB) is a Brazilian steel company founded in 1901. Wow! Look at that 10-year chart!
That's awesome! And the P/E is <9! I'm really liking this one. I guess you have to ask: Is the steel boom played out? Well I thought home-builders were played out 3 or 4 years ago, so don't ask me! (Actually, the chart only covers about 7 years. The company went public in '99.)

Another steel company Ipsco, Inc. (IPS) has been booming like mad over the past 3 years, as you can see in this 10-year chart:
It also has a relatively low P/E--just the way Ernie likes 'em--of about 8½%. You know what's good about these guys? They make the steel pipes that oil and gas companies need for their wells and transport. So if you think by next year we're all going to be burning ethanol in our cars, don't buy this stock. The company is based in Canada, but two of their three plants are in the "good ol' USA."

Leucadia (LUK) has a beautiful 1-year chart and a very low P/E (<5), but they're so diversified they make me nervous. How can one company do telecom, healthcare, banking, wine making, copper mining, etc.? Do they even know what they're about? Also it's rather thinly traded with an avg. vol. of <10,000.

PALM is attractive but risky. While their sales appear to be picking up over the past few quarters, back to the 2001 levels, I'm not convinced there's a lot of a future in those little hand-held jobs. Until they come out with something spectacular that's going to wow the public, I'd prefer to look somewhere else. PALM's revs. over the past 22 quarters (x $1 million), sequntially, are:
        (2001) 400.98, 522.19, 470.85, 165.30
        (2002) 214.32, 290.58, 292.65, 233.28
        (2003) 172.27, 264.90, 209.02, 225.76
        (2004) 177.44, 271.22, 242.49, 267.35
        (2005) 273.15, 376.18, 285.27, 335.82
        (2006) 342.20, 444.63.
Does it have 15% upside from today's price? Maybe. If you figure a $43 entry, you would have to get $49.45 for a 15% return. I think it might take a really positive news event to get it there in less than six weeks though. Just my stupid opinion, as with all the above.

                I like CME

I know it's already been one of your 80 winners, but I still like this one. It just seems to keep "marching forth" (the definition of "Exelauno", by the way!).

                      Ones to look at

Have 5 of them, I am glad to say (great if you have stock that makes MM's dump!) and think they are all good picks-BER, BZF, KSWW.OB (applied for AMEX listing), ILF, and JLG. Of all of them, I like JLG a lot and would pick it of all (KSWW.OB next)!

P.S. OT-Other ones I like are WSO and RAIL (FWIW!).

                            Check it out

By the way, great data dump as always (check on WES, WFSI, PKZ though as those 3 don't show up as stocks on Yahoo) and as for the history lesson on Exelauno, it (great pun as it turns out) translates and is pegged to "March Fourth (Forth)" as to the date.
