Made some adjustments to SPIKE for the start of the year. Here is how it stands going into Day 1 of 2006. (very pleased to be +0.5% in the face of S&P500 -1.6% in the past 4 trading days).

You'll note that I'm currently not in fund compliance (i.e. the rule that 50% of the port must be made up of stocks under 10% or less of the port assetts). I'm only at 43% and it's due to my late in the day buy of EFA, so I'll remedy that asap.

NFI: 30% of outstanding shares are short on this baby. Incredible, considering that it just paid a divy of $1.40 per share one week ago.

Chart looks horrendous. Could return to $22.50 per share in short order.

You sure you don't want to short this one in a revenge move? Or maybe buy a put?

Hi New-born: No, I you can't buy puts for the fund. And another way to make money from a losing stock is to get rid of it (or not buy it) and buy a better one. That is what I aim for with JLG, my new pick. See the thread for my Marketocracy fund.

        Regards,

        Karel

Mine sucked. I should have stayed with TRLG.

Up 3% for the week and 7.7% YTD! And of course, the rest could be lazy AND plain chicken. POTW is about as much as they can handle. Or POTY!

                    Regards,

                    Karel

I don't think you can place stop loss orders. Remember, you are running a fund. Stop loss orders make especially fund managers rather vulnerable. I would use some kind of alert service, delayed or not, and act accordingly. I may be wrong. You could always ask on help@marktocracy.com.

                        Regards,

Bump! Never too late to throw a port together. Perhaps a short fund; they got those too at marketocracy. Come on dudes.

Two horse race at the moment. Come on fellas; put up a port and have some fun. Shoo, I'll even let ya'll pick Creme of the Crop candidates and C Longs! hehehe

Here's where Karel and I stand relative to the market and each other.

all right, I'll give this a shot. I'm going to pick a handful of stuff and let it ride for awhile, updates will be infrequent.
