<< Let's assume that the particular issues you have chosen outperform some base index by 15%. Does this mean that successive picks chosen the same way will also have the same results? >>

History doesn't repeat the same tune but it frequently uses the same notes. A robust system will, over time, result in more winners than losers.

      Lye,
I'm a Dodge Van guy for a number of years now. The wifey likes the Toyota and drives a Camry XLE6. Bought it new for her in 1996 and has over 150000 mi. on it and is still cherry. Of course she won't let me drive it and that is the reason it's still primo. Also own a Jeep Cherokee for bad weather and the beach. She's pushing me for a new car now and wants a Toyota Sequoia. I told her to get a job and she can have one.
I like to buy American but the Toyotas make it hard to do that with the regular cars and SUVs.

        Geez Ski...You are worse than I am...LOL

        Welcome Peanut.

Ernie can't be using IBD ...He always comes up w/ some pinks in his list...Plus they won't let him subscribe anyway

My philosophy for intermediate term trades...which I don't make very often is to buy a fundamentally sound stock when it is technically ready...You'll find some in the IBD 100 just like you will in the IIC 100

...In fact, you could probably find some in any list of 100...Doug(IIC)

I have a bmw 325i that I purchased with money I made from playing computer game tournaments. In retrospect, I should of bought a less expensive car and put more of it in the market. Although you are only young once!

              Doug,

Thanks. I can only take that first sentence as a compliment. My brother-in-law just bought our niece a Ford Escape. Not to knock Ford overall but she took it to college, her Freshman year this year, an has had a number of problems with it which has been a drag on his free time being she is 3/4 hours away an he has to go up there and spend the time getting things right whenever she calls.

It is not my car of choice...The first one is pretty nice...a 2002 with the works...It was a company car from my last job...But in my employment agreement I was able to buy it for the residual last January which was only 6 grand...I rarely use it and it only has 33,000 miles on it.

My other one is a 2005...11,000 miles on it... It is a cheapo model...But it is a company car...I have the same deal that I can buy it after 3 years for the residual owed, but I doubt that I will buy this one...Well, maybe I will and then just turn around and sell it...That's what I was gonna do with the first one but I never got around to it...These companies lease them for 4 years but only keep them 3 years.

My wife's Xterra is a 2003...She had a 2001 Xterra before...They get really bad gas mileage but she doesn't drive far and she likes to sit up high...It's got 21,000 miles on it...Doug

One of my favorite features of IBD is "The New America." I don't subscribe any more though because it's too expensive, and half the time when you read that "Smart Investor" column it's just a thinly-veiled advertisement for their extra services that you have to pay for monthly over and above the already steep subscription cost. It's a good paper though, and I pick one up every now and then when I happen to see it somewhere.

LOL, I don't know about the commies. but what cracked me up over there was about 6 people who continually ragged on IBD, canslim, the air conditioning, their bowel problems, whathaveyou.

but the arguing was fun to watch especially when you realize that most of them were just lightweights anyway.

Kind of like the value_oasis yahoo group a friend told me about. Geez what a bunch of goofs. At least around here there seems to be an as yet unmet quota of goofs. A comliment
