How do you do it?
Karel,
I thought I'd ask the Computer Brains of this outfit a couple of questions. If you have the time, I'd much appreciate your help:
1. Karel, how do I set up a link like others do where it reads:
"Click here" and it goes to another page or site?
Example: Look at the bottom of a Spike post and his signature
has "Spike's Fund" and "Spike's Site".
2. I would like to be able to post beautiful charts like
you did on Spike's site without the thumbnail size, and
without causing you to resize my postsHow do you do
it?
If you have the time, my friend. Thanks!

Hi NBB,
1. This is easy, when you understand what is happening. Every time you drop a text like
www . example . com
(without the extra spaces) in your post, the board automatically changes it to
[ url ]www . example . com[ /url ]
(again, without the extra spaces inside the brackets and around the dots.) This gives a working link, with the link text equal to the link target. If you want a different link text, you have to place the [ URL ] ... [ /URL ] codes yourself, like this:
[ URL="www.example.com" ]Link text you like[ /URL ] or Link text you like
Note 1: You open a link with [ URL ], you close it with [ /URL ]
Note 2: You could use upper or lower case for the codes inside the brackets (URL or url), but the link target itself should be exactly like it shows up in the address bar of the browser, especially the part after the first slash, if any, f.i.:
[ URL="www.example.com/Index.html" ] equals
[ url="www.example.com/Index.html" ] but may be different from
[ URL="www.example.com/index.html" ]
2. Just upload your images to www.imageshack.us and use the first link for forums. O, wait, you don't want me to thumbnail them! Then you have to take care that the image isn't wider than 700 pixels, preferably less. The easiest way to do this is to make the window with the chart (and the chart, if necessary) narrower before you capture it. Or you could resize the captured image with a program like Irfanview, or your favorite photo editor/paint program.
Hope this helps,

NB and all!
Remember that http://www.imageshack.us/ has a resize option on their upload page! I just tried it out for this pic that was 1200 wide, and here's the resize that they did when I picked 640 width:
