Long overdue: cleanup

Some time ago I removed all members with invalid email addresses, if they had not made a post to the board and had not visited the site for quite some time. But there are still quite a few members with invalid email addresses.

Anyone who wants to become a member of this board can only do so with a valid email address. We do absolutely nothing with this address, apart from using it for administrative tasks relating to the functioning of the board, and of course for $$$Mr.Market$$$'s mailings, announcing his buys and sells. When in the course of time this email address becomes invalid, we are no longer able to reach that member, and since it is the only way we have of contacting a member, the membership becomes invalid.

In that case, we have decided not to remove the member, but to restrict his or her privileges for the board to reading only.

The cleanup is in progress. I found some "members" with invalid email addresses who visited once or a couple of times in 2003 or so; those have been deleted. The other members with invalid email addresses find themselves awarded the category "No posting; invalid email". If you discover that you have that status, and you want it changed, please contact admin@mrmarketishuge.com. We have no easy way of discovering that you changed your email address in the User Control Panel, or that your email address is active again.

To check your status, go to the Member List and look up your user name.

OK, the cleanup is finished. I found a spammer I overlooked, too, buried somewhere in the message list.

Again, if you find you suddenly can't post, check your status in the Members List.
