'NYT' Sunday Preview: Madeleine Albright Can Leg-Press 400 Pounds

    Published: April 20, 2006 1:35 PM ET

NEW YORK In an interview in the The New York Times Magazine that will appear this coming Sunday, Madeleine Albright reveals, among other things, that even at 68, she works out three times a week "and I can leg-press up to 400 pounds." This follows a discussion of how she does not expect to re-marry, partly because, as she says, "I'm intimidating, don't you think?"

Ernst, you're being beaten by a 68-year old woman!!

        Madeleine Albright

Love her or hate her, you had to love her when she played the role of Grandpa Munster:

I used to do over 1000. Of course, that was 45 deg incline, so, I guess that only counts as 707? Serious, though, if I do anywhere near 400 at 68, I'll be overjoyed. Nothing like pure inspiration to keep one going.

                Greetings,

As a competitive bodybuilder,IMO the only way Madeline Albright can move 400lbs in any kind of leg press is with a forklift.A flat leg press on low friction roller bearings is as easy as it could get,I'd love to see her move 100lbs.If she could squat down hands free with her own bodyweight once,I'd be impressed.

                cordially Tom

                  Or perhaps 400 lb on a 10:1 pulley/cam reduction?
