I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Register for free and you'll be able to post messages on this forum and also receive emails when $$$ MR. MARKET $$$ makes his own trades. ($$$MR. MARKET$$$ is a proprietary investor and does not provide individual financial advice. The stocks mentioned on this forum do not represent individual buy or sell recommendations and should not be viewed as such. Individual investors should consider speaking with a professional investment adviser before making any investment decisions.)

I'm very new to the market, and I want to learn more before I take any action. What would you recommend for me to read (books, articles, forums etc) or to do.
Well I'm not sure what the difference is... I've been playing with the idea of getting into investing, as I was going through some forums earlier today I came across a post from Spike and followed his link to this site. I am a teacher and I need something to do on the side that can become a nice supplement.
I read few articles that talked about fundamental and technical investors, and from what I gathered I think I would be technical investor with a hint of fundamental values.

1) Take any monies that would be wasted in union dues and invest it your own future through learning everything you can about stocks then buying stocks with those funds.
2) Read everything on each and every thread on this forum. Absorb what you can then re-read those that, at first, seem confusing.
3) Studiously avoid any system that includes Monkey Paws or has the VTP mentioned in it anywhere.
Hahaha, why are you taking shots at the VTP creator and followers??
Such advanced systems are far beyond the ability of mere mortals to either master or even merely comprehend. These should be left to be used by only those astute practitioners who understand the complexity and nuances involved.
Besides, he has enough problems just being a teacher without bringing additional ones into his life.

This is a logical statement that Gator has made. Do not attemp to use the VTP, unless you possess the mental capacity to understand it. This is a system for advanced traders only.
Eventually, I am planning on developing a simplified version of the VTP that anyone will be able to comprehend.
I would suggest you follow the Adman's Outlook thread. It reads like an expensive newsletter, and an overwhelming number of his picks (if not all), have significant gains.
Something like 85% of his selections have risen 20% or more in a months time or less (one ran up like 65%!).
I am learning a lot from his posts, and I have been able to pick out additional stocks from IIC's Winner Watch List. I am more of a reader and learner than I am a poster, and have learned much from these threads, as well as made a few dollars along the way.
Yes, welcome indeed, TH! You've definitely found the best free forum for stock discussion in existence. Stick around, and you can't help but benefit from the wealth of information available here.
Just remember that not everything is a nail. (Get it, hammer, nail? I crack me up...)
