I bet all those apples would have made some large quantities of great, "apple goji".

I hunt Morel mushrooms every spring.... We call em Woodfish down here and we keep our finds very quiet 'cause there are Woodfish poachers around here that sneak on your land an steal them.... Then sell them to fancy restaurants for about $50 per pound. I have some super productive spots on my farm for them too.

I like to cut them in half wash them in salt water, dry them, dip them in egg, roll them in flower and fry them in butter and olive oil.... MAN!!!! they're somewhat good, Mrs. Lye likes em too....You know? I think I'd have to shoot a man if I caught him stealin' my woodfish.....

Edit.... Here's one of these SOB's that'll steal your freakin' Woodfish! This guy was on another fellas farm and STOLE his Woodfish! and they put it in our local paper! MAN! he's lucky he didn't say he found them on my farm!LOL! btw.... I find em bigger than this sometimes.

I have a "secret" spot for morels about 15 miles from my house, or, as you call them, woodfish (never heard of that before). I'll have to try your recipe. I've only eaten them plain- right after picking them. Do you know any good websites for morels... er, woodfish?

Many moons ago, I would sneak onto an Alabama cattle farmers land and get my hands all purple... wow, the memories... and colors... and laughs.

btw: spores are legal- not that I would have ever done THAT.

Well I guess it depends on what you are calling "spores"....The actual spore can't make you trip either. The shrooms produced from those spores are another story.... Psilocybin is considered a controlled substance the same as opium or LSD.... anyone caught possessing psilocybin mushrooms could face third-degree felony charges.

                Lye,
I'm surprised at your knowledge of these spores. I've seen them germinate if that is the proper word. Wonder if it's a crime to observe spores that have reached the next stage if they're not yours? Really, they came maybe accidentally in with some Boston fern spores. Fascinating little buggers.

                  Who You Gonna Have?

You can't hold a Woodstock-type festival today, for the simple reason that there aren't any really good bands around.

Look at the original Woodstock. You had Santana (the early version), Jimi Hendrix, Alvin Lee and Ten Years After, Jefferson Airplane, Sly & the Family Stone, Joe Cocker, The Who, etc., etc.

Who would you have now that could compare? Well, Joan Baez played Woodstock. I suppose you could have her sing if you could get her down outta that tree. She likes to protest just about everything that comes down the pike, but what a voice! Wow! Lye likes George Thoroughgood, so I guess you could get him to play. Maybe Ted Nugent could come and shoot some flaming arrows in between his guitar riffs. Then there's Dave Matthews. The kids seem to like him pretty good, and he's from Charlottesville, just up the road from here. You could put on a pretty decent show, but there will never be another Woodstock.

I have basic knowledge of psychedelic mushrooms from my younger days. I obtained the other "knowledge" just yesterday (like where to buy spores) from "Google"....jejeje

Then how about an "Outlaw" Bluegrass festival?.... We could use local (regional) talent and they're cheap..... they'd play for "The GoJi"....

There ya go, Lye. We could provide tons of free popcorn with LOTS of salt on it, then charge $2.50 for a 16-oz. Coke that's about 80% ice. I'm startin' to see $$$$'s. heh heh

                          Lye,
All the greats want to come back and honor the "Huge One". Duane and Berry O. , Ronnie VZ. How about Tom Petty , ZZ Top. You Southern guys can call in some favors and have an awesome representation. Lye , surely Allison can't deny you. This will be greater than Woodstock , Waynestock , any of them. Mr.Market is probably personal friends with Springsteen , Aerosmith , Boston , J.Geils , Southside Johnny and we haven't even gone West or to England yet. This is going to be huge..huge..huge. Lye, what is the human capacity for your farm ? Remember , BEL will do the cleanup free for public relations benefits.
