Got my Dad a new IMAC 20 for his birthday...tried to talk him into switching to a PC but couldn't...Anyway, was over at his house yesterday and ran the CNET speed test...4748, 5217, 4782 on 3 runs...Whoa, maybe I should switch to cable...On one of them I didn't see the test run it went so fast...Doug(IIC)

I'm watching Federer vs. Nadal in the Wimbledon tennis championship and realize I couldn't return one of their serves on the best day of my life. One of Federer's serves sounded like an explosion and I never saw the ball. Can anyone tell me how fast the balls are traveling ?

I wouldn't trade my cable for anything.

Why don't we petition Mr. Market and the rest of the entire membership to have a additional "Off-Topic" forum? This particular forum is called, "Mr. Market's Stock Picking Forum > general > Discussion", so why post OT stuff here? I'm not an admin, just a voice in the crowd, but if I kept seeing OT posts, I would start a separate forum or discussion group, what-have-you, for OT stuff. Otherwise, it might get crowded in the future with many OT threads and the discussion may become misdirected. Also, OT threads can be redirected to another forum so that this forum can stay specific to stock picking threads. I was just thinking... maybe I should stop doing that, but just thinking...

I see no harm in a little banter within on-topic threads, however- except my IBD thread but that's just because I know the ill feelings some people have with IBD and I want to keep that stuff off of the IBD thread. Most people subscribing to IBD have no idea what the market is really like. (all Mr. Market members excluded from this group, of course)

want some good stocks, see IIC,
want some hard knocks, see IBD
                    Hide not your talents.
                    They for use were made.

Peanuts...that's why I started this O/T thread...So those who are all biz could ignore it...You could always start your own forum...But being a moderator is not all it's cracked up to be...Unless of course...You don't wanna a life...BTW...Who has ill feelings about IBD???

                        What Time Is It?

Is your computer's clock running too fast or too slowly?

Get the exact time from the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

And if you're too lazy to set your computer's clock to the accurate time, you can download a nifty little utility to do it for you automatically. ... everyone except Peanuts, 'cause he doesn't like this thread.

Are we in Xanadu or what?
