Man, I'm glad you posted this!.... When I was a kid we used to listen to Burl Ives records over and over and over.... I remember we had an old B&W TV that broke down and my daddy threw it away and didn't get another one for about five years or till about 1974.... So listening to records was the next best thing.... Oh how times have changed.

-------- Water in a bottle goes over Niagara Falls on January 1st, 2000. Forget about factoring frozen Falls into this. Assuming the bottle never is broken , leaks, or is hung up along the way for more than a 24 hour time period, is never removed from it's major source of locomotion by animal or beast, or act of God, will the bottle and ,therefore, the water contained within , ever pass over Niagara Falls again ? For extra credit , give me the date.

If the bottle is completely filled with water it will sink.... so the answer is .... no.

I know this because I have sunk many-a-beer bottle while fishing in my day.

            Mo' Fun, Off-topic Stuff

Jiesen! Excellent link, dude! I never used to like Burl Ives until I saw him in this movie. It changed my whole perception of him 180 degrees. It's one of the finest pieces of acting I believe I've ever seen.

Here are a couple other good musical links on youtube:
The Kingston Trio & Mary Travers sing "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?"

Then there's one of Doc Watson & Jack Lawrence doing some out-of-this-world guitar picking, flat picking style. Doc's one of my personal favorites ... got to meet him once before a show in Riverside, CA, and Jack Lawrence was with him then, too. That was probably around '88 or '89. Whoever uploaded this video never gives the title of the song, so I'm guessing they don't even recognize the "Black Mountain Rag" when they hear it.

Rob, that is some great guitar picking, and a pretty cool site for videos of anything you can think of. I found one of my favorite musicians there... The one man band, Keller Williams. If you've got 15 minutes, this video is a pretty good indication of his musical abilities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrPxx...ller%20william

                        I Guess I'm A Linda Perry "Groupie"

This was the best pop song of the 90s to make the charts. 4 Non Blondes lead singer and songwriter, Linda Perry, has such a powerful voice it just blows me away every time I hear it. It's not that her singing is polished or "flawless" or anything like that. In fact it's pretty "rough around the edges" and often a little off-key. But I guess it's the power and the passion and that indescribable tonal quality she has that just sends me. I have this saying about her, and it's true: whenever I hear Linda Perry sing, I always feel like I want to smoke a cigarette afterwards, and I haven't smoked since April 1975!

That's great that you haven't smoked for that long, but disheartening to know you still crave one every now and then. Aug 28th will be 1 year since I quit all tobacco products. I haven't had a craving for many months, but I am sure that it will hit me one of these days...

Do you work for the HOF ? My son swam at the pool that is very close to the football dome but I can't remember the name of the place.
