    Imageshack.us

Some of us use http://imageshack.us to post charts and photos. However, starting a few days ago I could not get on their site via AOL...I always get this message:

It still works if I go in using Internet Explorer...But this has me a little concerned because I'm using it for a new coupon site I'm developing.

I know some have mentioned other services like this but besides Photobucket I can't remember the names...Any FREE or PAID suggestions?

Also, I found that if I convert my images to .gif they come out much clearer...although I have not been doing that on the charts I post, I probably should.

    TIA for any suggestions...Doug(IIC)

Add one more thing to the list of reasons why I can't stand AOL. I never had an AOL acct. I started using CompuServe in '91 and used it almost exclusively for about 10 years, with a brief foray into using MSN in about '96. Well CompuServe, which was owned by H&R Block, was acquired by WorldCom in February 1998 for $1.2 billion in WCOM stock and sold the following day to AOL. Not long afterward, CompuServe started a new service called "CompuServe 2000," and tried to cajole all the people using the standard CS service to switch over. I kept holding out, because CS2000 was nothing more than an AOL account with a different banner across the top. Eventually they wore me down to the point that I agreed to use CS2000 on a 3-month trial basis with the understanding that I would be able to return to using what they called "Compuserve Classic" at any time during the trial period, but that if I allowed that trial period to expire without notifying them, I would no longer have that option. Well guess what ... I forgot to revert to the old system prior to the end of the trial period, so I was "stuck" with an acct. I didn't really want. Not long after that I cancelled that acct. and went with Verizon, which is still my ISP. I hate AOL, I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. Just give me unencumbered Internet access and keep all the stinking splash screens with all the lousy bells and whistles. I don't care who J-Lo is dating or which latest gangsta rap artist, whom I've never heard of, is charged with shooting someone at a night club. If I care to know that stuff, there are only 15 trillion places on the Net to get it from, and I don't need it shoved in my face, thank you.

Doug, I've used a couple other image hosting services (I think photobucket was one) but I haven't found any to be quite as reliable as imageshack. If I were you, I'd just forget the AOL browser and use the plain IE Explorer that comes from Microsoft, or else Mozilla Firefox. Actually since my episode with getting the spyware removed from my system a month or so ago, there are still a couple features of my MS IE that are not working properly, forcing me to use Firefox for some things.
