Ski, I don't know about yousendit.com, but personally I would recommend using WinZip, and zip all the contents of the folder (including sub-folders) into one file. ZIP is one of the most universally supported compression formats around. I've been using it since the old PKZip days 15 years ago.

I Googled Winzip and they said that it was a free download but then the bait and switch came into play when I tried to download the file and they wanted $28 to get it. One of these days I'll buy it but not right now. I tried www.yousendit.com but it wouldn't take the whole folder, which is how I have it in my computer C drive, and would only take the individual files of which there are 30 files. Anyway I thought I would give it a shot at just emailing it and seeing if my email would send the 7.73 mb folder as an attachment. No problemo. I sent the whole folder as an attachment. It's a very interesting disc and great for learning TA. It is the disc that comes with Martin Pring's book, "Introduction to Technical Analysis". If you are interested in a copy of it I would be happy to email it to you. Did you see my post about the ETFs. It is on my Skiracer thread. That's another good one to have. If you're interested or anyone else is interested just give me your email address an I'll send the both out.

How large is the file? If it exceeds the limits of those set by either your or his email provider, then it would be best to transfer the file via Yahoo Messenger or AIM, or ICQ, or some such. Supposedly this past week, Yahoo and Microsoft have set it so that Microsoft's and Yahoo's IM programs can communicate with one another, but that wouldn't be necessary if you both have one of the same type already installed on your PCs.

The folder is 7.73 mb. But I don't have a compression program in my computer and don't know if I have to compress that folder anyway. Stkytreat gave me a site to go to called, www.yousendit.com, an I did but not sure how to use that site.

Everyone should download a free spyware protection program from Lavasoft called Ad-Aware, install it and run it often. As far as freebie software of this type goes, it's about the best. They do offer more powerful versions, but of course you have to buy those.

You might want to think about downloading a complementary program, Spybot.
Sometimes one program will miss something, but the other should find it.

Everyone should download a free spyware protection program from Lavasoft called Ad-Aware, install it and run it often. As far as freebie software of this type goes, it's about the best. They do offer more powerful versions, but of course you have to buy those.

p.s. I don't know whether they have Mac versions of this software. Since I don't use Macs, I never bothered to look.

Thanks Rob. I just downloaded it and ran it. During lunch, since it took almost 40 minutes -- it found a bunch a stuff. I quarantined all of it.

Is it just the auctions you don't like? Or buying on line period? Ebay is pretty safe, especially if you find a vendor with a high feedback rating.

PayPal also has automatic buyer protection on many tangible items. I once paid a guy $65 with PayPal for a nice pair of Tony Lama western boots that would probably cost more than $200 in the store. He said he shipped 'em but they never arrived. I got a full refund from PayPal through their buyer protection program. I would much rather have gotten the boots, but getting my cash back in full was nice indeed!

Anyway, Amazon has Paint Shop Pro for sale--different versions too, if you don't mind buying through Amazon.com. If it's a brick-and-mortar type place you're asking about, I would just check out the local software vendors who are the best-stocked.

This is a great idea for a thread. I have that Ad-Ware program installed on my computers. I was having a problem where a small box would keep popping up saying the " Internet Explorer had encountered a problem and would have to close". Sometimes I actually had to shut it down. I bought a service from Dell where I can call them anytime for help and they fix it online. They installed that Ad-Ware program for me an the problem stopped immediately. I run it at least once every week now an haven't had any problems since it's been installed.
I went to the site you mentioned about Paint Shop Pro 7 and see that it was an auction. Where would I buy it from in a store or online. I'm not crazy about the auctions or that type of situation.
