I think that CAS will soon make a big move in one direction or the other. It looks like $25 is long term and short term support. Nickle stockpiles and pricing have been in the news alot lately. 2007 is expected to see alot of action in the metals markets. CAS should see considerable swings in pps, and may be worth trading for those traders that follow metals.

    Long term view:

    Short term view:

So, what do you think? Will the move be up or down?

I read somewhere that while the stock price languished over the past 8 years or so, the intrinsic value went up over 60% during that time. The value guys have been all over this one lately because of that.

    Peanuts,
ATI has been down before , this year, and has always come back stronger than ever. Down nearly 10 points this week. Wouldn't be surprised to see many points up next week.

This is a great company, solidly built, heavily fortified, and widely diversified. Today is a great day to buy BRK.b

The class A shares are basically the same thing as class B shares, but you get voting rights. They trade as a multiple of one another.

I did notice that some of the very strong steel stongs like ATI and others were quite weak yesterday given the market strength and may be a result of that news. I suspect their RSI's dropped considerably yesterday.
ATI should not have dropped due to this news. They are a net exporter of one of their types of steel. Silican Steel for the electrical industry needs to be made in a special operation. ATI has a the smallest BOF in America to do just that. And to think that they nearly sold off this business to the Germans a few years back... it's one of the biggest money makers for ATI now. This is information that Wall Street does not know, or does not disclose... Now you know why ATI is huge. They actually SUPPLY China with steel!

ATI does not have galvanizing operations to supply plate to the automakers. This is most likely just a healthy pullback.

Their largest meltshop (and the BOF) is literally 3 miles down the river from me.

    But...BUT:

The WEEKLY chart of cacb suggests that a close below 28 would be bearish (this is on the weekly charts mind you, so if the daily close is below 28 then it should just raise caution flags because that chart could still reverse and move back up).

An inverted yield curve (ie an inversion of the Fed Funds rate to the 10 yr., which has ALWAYS preceeded a recession in the past) has to eventually catch up with financials at some point, right? I mean, are we re-writing the laws of economics here or what??!!

I think buying right here is also bad behavior. This stock needs to slap me in the face before I'll get interested in her. I am patiently waiting...

It may also be at the very end of a handle on an 2.5 month C&H pattern, but I haven't been finding very many successful C&H breakouts, lately.
