I have just sold ASVI for a profit of 12.5% at $16.55. It took just 11 trading days to do this.

I will hold approx 50% CA$H in the portfolio until the next MOMO pick

Excellent job! Nothing wtong with taking a profit.

I'm going to hold ASVI for a while longer. The indicators are still bullish at this point, but could change at anytime. I'll keep a close eye on it.

Thanks Spike. Looks like I could have held on for a few more minutes and made even better gains. On a day like this, I'll take what I can get.

                    Webs,

I might be buying more ASVI soon. I am keeping away until Friday when CAT reports their earnings. I think the price will retreat until investors get a better feel after CAT reports. Tomorrow may offer really cheap shares

I have triggers set to buy at new highs. AP may become huge, but I don't know when that will be. I just saw an intraday opportunity that I could not pass on.

I sold a bunch of my other positions yesterday. I have no holdings on margin at this time. (technically, I do, but I have the cash to cover everything) I am keeping alot of cash on hand for the big swings we should see before the market decides to correct. With so much going on right now, the volatility will be crazy and I think I can make a good amount from wide swings in prices. I'll be focussing only on certain sectors and then on certain stocks.

I'm changing my name to Jack, because I'll have to be nimble, I have to be quick, and I'll be looking out for just the right candlestick!

                        Steel

Spike asked for some links to Steel:

                        www.steel.org (some statistical info)
www.aist.org (goto the "steel links" for tons of info)

Also, I track the following symbols each day in a Yahoo! portfolio. This is the Peanuts Steel Index (PSI)

AKS AP ATI CECE CGA CHAP CLF CMC CRS FRD GGB GNA HSVLY IIIN IPS KYCN.OB MEA MT NSS NUE NWPX NX OS PCP PKX RIO ROCK RS SCHN SGG SHLO SID SIM STLD STTX TKR TONS TS TXI USAP WOR WPSC X ZEUS

If you keep the portfolio as well, it will keep you up to date on the news within the industry.

Please don't hold us in the dark. Where do you expect to find wide swings and what sectors andstocks do you expect to play. You must have something in mind.
DMK said that he thought that I was playing with fire with the short on ACOR yesterday. Boy that was an understatement with what you did with AP yesterday. You caught that right at the bottom and made the play .10 off the LOD. Great find and call on the reversal. What made you think that it was turning up and would go that far so fast. I also don't understand your exit right in the middle of the run. Why not set a close stop and at least give yourself the opportunity to max out on such a gutsy play in the first place. I mean you could have brought up a stop around where you exited and let it run out, took it overnight and bring the stop up to 33 at the close and at least take advantage of what you might add to the gains today or get stopped out at 33 with another point in gains anyway. Only mentioning this because I see you doing this on a number of occassions where you find a nice play and then get cold feet in the middle of it without maximizing the opportunity. It's your money and still a very nice call and play. Exercise a littly patience and use the stops to your benefit. I'm sure you would make alot more money with these calls.

                            ASVI - hmmm

ASVI looks good. One thing that concerns me is declining revenue in 2 of the last 3 quarters, but overall they appear to still be on "track." ... Get it? ... On "track"? heh heh

Ski, you seem concerned that I am cutting myself short. It was purely a technical trade. This is what I looked at... I traded my plan: in and out in 1 day with no regrets:

I will keep you updated on the sector watch and then which stocks I like in each sector. It will be in my weekly watchlist.
