    cascfo PM spam

    Hello,

I got a warning about Private Message spam by user "cascfo". I deleted all PMs by that user. If you were hit (and know it; I deleted the PMs ), please reply here, even though the message should be gone by now.

    Regards,

    Karel,
I got it but didn't open it. After all it said it was technical trading.

      Karel:
I got it. You have since deleted it.
Have you ever noticed that most all spammers are guilty of spelling words incorrectly?
It is truly indicative of the value of their postings.

        I got it too.

I looked at his site and actually did find it useful. SPAM is no good though.

I got the PM early this morning and took a look at the site. It didn't seem like a bad site and could offer some useful info. But I didn't like the way he invited himself in to further his own site with our people. But then how would you go about getting people to look at you site without doing that. I think I remember Ernie talking up his site at IBD when he was posting there.

On the forums I moderate I have no problem with CONTRIBUTORS mentioning their site(s) once in a while or in their sig...But joining groups to pump your site(s) is not welcome...If someone is a regular contributor I think it is OK.

For example, when I started Mr. Breakout I had already been a member here for 10 months...I emailed Ernie and told him about it and I asked if it was OK if I mentioned it...He said NO PROBLEM...That is the proper way to go about it...I was a member before I started it and now that it is on hiatus mostly, I'm still a member here...I'd say that makes it pretty obvious that I did not join this forum to be a hypester.

I didn't see that guy's message...But if he wants to promote his site let him pay to do so...AND/OR...He can list it for FREE at my F-Links site...Doug(IIC)

This is our policy too (as the rest of Dougs post shows). We really don't mind contributors showing off their sites, but dropping in just to post a link and running away is not appreciated. And Private Message spam is just too sly. If anyone encounters it again, warn me as soon as possible, please. I'll stop it as quickly as I can.
