Another option might be to use http://docs.google.com . You could keep the excel spreadsheet to track everybody, then at the end of the week put a copy up on docs.google.com and post a link to that online spreadsheet here for everyone to see.

I put up a really really simple example.

This is a good idea and easily implemented.

The image could be made larger by downsizing the initial image to only the area that contains the scores this year to date. I was able to enlarge it considerably to at least be able to read the averages. The image doesn't really need the time frames for the weeks that we haven't played yet. This is a little fuzzy but certainly more readable than the original.

Thanks for the enlargement, Ski! I was having some trouble reading that myself.

No, it means you have to walk bare-foot across a bed of hot coals, roll in a pile of broken glass, tie yourself to a spinning wheel while we throw darts at you for points, and then you have to renounce your Mr Market membership, come up with a new name, and re-enter with a higher score.

I wasn't even looking at the bottom chart. I just couldn't read the numbers on the top chart and not because of my eyesight. What I find curious is why have the chart and not be able to read it clearly and then try to defend the position. No problemo, I'll do it for myself. Spike's got a good idea. But this is just another situation like the daily descending order being worked out. But thanks anyway bud.

I'm working on a solution. You know me, I need to please people, so if I hear a complaint, I'll be sure to deal with it. I've got your back, dude. I bet you could spot a rabbit sticking its nose from its hole for the first time on a foggy morning from a hundreds yards away. My scoresheet sucks, and I know it. Just give me some time to come up with a good solution... and quit trying to get everyone on my back about it.

Yea, I live for that and straightening out scoresheets all across the internet. I wouldn't bother with trying to make it any more readable. Afterall, why should you, anyone who cares can keep the numbers themselves if they're that interested.
But one of these days when having your boots shined, keeping your weapon dry and oiled, and all your gear in order may save your life then you'll thank old Ski for keeping on your back about doing things right. I know you have it in you son, it's just a matter of bringing the cream to the top of that cistern. Here at MM's Paris Island refuge our aim is to do just that with you youngsters.

I don't think there is anyone on the internet who wouldn't have a hard time reading that sheet. But in all honesty Jiesen Peanuts is doing such a great job with running the show, and I sincerely mean that, we should just keep our mugs shut, be thankful for what we've got going, and shower him with more praise. God forbid we should make him get a hair somewhere up there. He's liable to initiate a new rule about "misappropriate nonsensical chatter", that's a 3% deduction of your yearly total to date but no one would be able to read the sheet to see what the score is and then it wouldn't count anyway. We're lucky to have him.

I have to take exception to that "tiny little forg move" remark River. It's not the size of one's FORG as much as how you direct it. I did start the week off in a much higher priced stock but my patented "tube move" was invented just for these situations where the need for a sling shot momentum move is mandated near the finish line.

Ski, I didn't mean to offend you and hope that you consider it just very friendly rivalry. I am extremely impressed by the way you are able to consistently end up in the top three by just such a tube move! In fact, this is not the first time you have edged me out, just as I thought I had a shot at it. No hard feelings, just a friendly reaction to the surprising success of your move. I am learning from you. What I have learned this week from you is that I need to have an ace up my sleeve, like Forg. You are a formidable challenger, and you have a real feel for picking really good momentum stocks and for the timing of their moves! Congratulations and a friendly handshake, please.

The stock I am thinking about for the coming week is totally and utterly risky. I either get shot down in flames very quickly, or a huge short squeeze propels me into the top three again. In fact, if the former occurs, I will most likely short the same stock, also hoping to make the top three.

So, Peanuts, please put me in CA$H to begin with, until I make a decision as to whether or not to take this big risk. After all, nothing ventured nothing gained, as long as this is just a paper trade.

I never took it the wrong way. I love the interaction and the rivalry regardless of who comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd as long as it's not Peanuts, Doug, or Websman. I just had my prescription renewed and got new glasses about two weeks ago. I still cannot read the numbers on that sheet. But I'm sure that Peanuts, in his willingness to please the participants, is going to come up with some solution. We will, as mere participants in the POTW, just have to wait until he does that magic that he does so well. I can still occassionally hit a rabbit running full blast with a .410 gauge at 30/35 yards but I can't read the script on that sheet.
