Rob ran the contest last year, and I've been trying to hold onto the reins since January. There are links in my signature that you can use to catch up on what has happened since you left. Some changes include a new yearly performance tracking aspect to the game, and slight alterations to the rules, but everything else is basically the same.

It helps if you can consistently play each week.

Turns out I (ferbs027) was BoSox Jon. I figured the password situation out so it'd be great if my pick under the name ferbs027 could be transferred to this account. Sorry for any confusion this might cause and good luck to everyone this week!

          can you help?

Hi everyone. I really enjoy being the scorekeeper for the POTW contest. The time I spend on it doesn't clash with my normal daily routine. However, this week I am suddenly presented with some other issues which will keep me from spending too much time at the my desk after the market closes. In fact, on Friday I will not be around at all. I need some help if anyone can do what I'm about to ask...

I can handle the scorecard each day, and should have it ready by 4:25 each day for anyone that wants to do the write-up. But, that's where I need the help. Does anyone want to do a little theme-based write-up each day? I can send the scorecard link to you each day thru private messenging, and then you can do the write up... It's easy, really, I mean it... but I don't have the time this week. You can even do your own scorecard if you want...

Jiesen suggested a Star Trek theme a few weeks back, and I was going to use it for this week if you don't have an idea of your own.

The first person to volunteer gets the job. Whoever does it, I'll send the scorecard link to you after the market closes.

          Thanks

              week 16

Wish I had more time. My appologies for lack of entertainment:

I'll take a stab at it:

These are the voyages of the POTY:

While mimo and let-it-ride fine tuned their navigation systems...

and the vulcan trader was just chillin with his smokes...

Scifos and NBB counted their ca$h and plotted their next move.

                  ST:POTW continued

Louetta found herself in a bind... trapped by the wily KirkTwain and his phaser.

Meanwhile, despite Louetta's predicament, IIC scores a point by playing BEAV long.

Here's Peanuts, hard at work under the hood, with UA:

RL seems to be distracted by a certain communications lieutenant, so instead of picking Sprint, slips up and goes with USU...

And guess who thought he was buying a train, but got stuck with sticky tribbes?

                    and the leaders are:

Riverbabe looks super foxy in second, next to the bronzed Ferrengi with a drug habit, and a certain soda-swiggin' Klingon. Nobody's taking mighty Pete Hansen's drink today- he's really Jonesin' for it, as you can see!

a close 4th place came to BoSoxJon, but due to an incorrect password on his communicator, a substitue character had to be beamed in from somewhere in Alabama. Be very careful, For...er, Jon, because you know how these new characters get treated on this show!

a few spots down the list, a silvery-haired Lyehopper finds his nemesis, Waldo, SNAPS into action, one-upping Rob's GOOGleplex of theatrical skillz.

Rob has just one word for Lye...

                      that was fun!

but it does take some time, so I can't do this again tomorrow... I'm redelegating it to, let's see... BoSoxJon! It's your turn to be funny! (that'll teach you to go so long without making a POTW pick. )

Sheesh, put on the spot... My creative side is weak at best, non-existent at worst.

That's interesting. If I had gone long MTB instead of short I would lead the contest by .01%. Don't forget tomorrow night at 7:30 in Newburyport, MA is the monthly reading of the Powow River poets.
