Portfolio of the week - 2007

I thought about it frequently today. I just can't handle it with school. I know other people are busy too. Here's the shoulders plus a little bit more tho.

I can understand the issue with grad school and all that. Lots of work. Someone will pick it up the scorekeeping I'm sure.

Bare shoulders and a bare abdomen might be to much for me to take at once. I'm feeling faint. Oh no, I've fallen and can't get up. I am fond of that avatar.

You must be happy. Red Sox take 2 out of 3 from the Yankees in NY to boot. I wouldn't be surprised if George fires Torre and Cashman tonight.

What was so harsh about what I said. Was it a lie. Did I belittle him or call him some terrible name. Had he taken even a minute to get to know anything about us, the POTW, or the site? I thought I was being courteous yet trying to explain some things about us.

Perhaps this might be a good lesson for Dalion in assuming something that he knows nothing about before getting to know the subject matter. Probably on your part to.

Let me put my 2 cents in here...

I'm pretty sure that most members have seen Ski and I get into it on more than one ocassion lately...I like busting his b**** for whatever reason...But I don't take his bashing of me personally and I hope he doesn't take mine of him personally.

I assume that most oldtimers here realize that we are just playin' w/ each other...Although I may be wrong about that???

But new members would have no idea about personalties...For instance, I like to give Peanuts, Webs, Lye, Louetta, Park and a few others a hard time too...But it is all in fun on my part.

Ski...Honestly, I'd also say you were a bit harsh on dalion...Take my opinion FWIW. We need new blood who are not spammers IMO...We have over 2000 members here and only about 30 or so make regular posts...I think we should welcome some fresh ideas from sincere new members.

I'll say no. They started poorly last year and polished us off nicely at the end. Of course they sunk millions into people like Abreu to do it but George doesn't seem to mind the bucks.

You can find an anecdote to prove anything but I'll tell you why I think the Yanks may still take us out. Late last year there was a play where Robinson Cano hit a grounder thru the right side of the infield which stopped about 30 feet out on the outfield grass. Cano never hesitated but made the turn at first and went right to second. Must have been the shortest double in history. Meanwhile Willie Mo Pena just jogged in to pick up the ball while Cano chugged toward second. As long as they have the Canos and we have the Penas they will never be too far behind. They can buy pitching last week in July and still catch us.

Nope. Bod mods are verboten in my crowd. Except, for some reason, ear piercings, but only on the lobes.

I know a number of younger and older women that have them and they are the real thing. They don't wash off. They are permanent.
Here's a funny little story. My dad was in the Navy for 21 years and never got one. Almost everyone of his buddies that flew with him had one or two of them. I asked him why he never got one and his answer was that they were all homos and that only homos had them. I never understood his answer and certainly knew it wasn't true so I let it go and never pressed him on it. He had been in the European and Pacific theatres and had seen alot of shit so I guess he has his reasons. When I was shipping out for Viet Nam one of the last things he said to me was don't be coming home with any tattoos. I remember saying to him jokingly if they send me back in a body bag and I have a tattoo will you accept the body or not. I never had an intention of getting one anyway. About 8 or 9 months into my 1st tour we had been out in the field for about 3 wks. and had seen some pretty heavy fighting and lost a couple of guys and took some wounded. When they extracted us they took my outfit to a base somewhere in the south where there wasn't to much fighting going on and we had a week or two before they would send us back out on another mission. We were special ops and we stayed pretty much to ourselves coming down off of the last 3 weeks in the field. The only thing we had to do was clean our gear and get our heads straight. At this particular compound there was a guy who had tattooing needles and all the equipment that went along with it. I didn't know him and never got to meet him because I got drunk the first night in and stayed pretty drunk for a few days before I realized that I had a bandage on the inside of my right forearm about 5 or 6 inches above my wrist. I didn't realize that I had it there being in the condition that I was in. We never got the two weeks we were supposed to get and were sent back out into the field again in less than a week. Anyway I had to sober up and straighten up real quick and that was when I realized that I had this bandage on my forearm and didn't know what the hell it was from. When I took off the bandage and saw the tattoo the first thing I thought of was that my dad was going to be pissed off for sure.
Several months later I'm out of Viet Nam and home on leave and at my mom and dad's house when I'm coming out of the shower and my dad sees the tattoo and goes ballistic. I had forgotten it was even there. He was so pissed I thought we were going to get into a fist fight. He wanted to know if I was a homo. That was after just being at war and doing some killing for the previous 11 months or so. I never met the guy who put it there but everytime I look at that tattoo, which is probably hundreds of times everyday, somewhere in the back of my it reminds me of those times and everything that I did during that portion of my life. It's never that far away from me because of that tattoo which I never wanted to get in the first place.
