I will eddy out of KMGB and ride the green water that RAVN long will take me. Go CwH's!
I have to correct you there...there is no river older than 6,000 years...all those canyons were formed by God with a huge stick.

I got a kick out of the list of "major" towns along the River. Parrott was on that list...what happened to Belspring or Fries?

I went to highschool in Radford (state champs for many years) and had a jon boat chained on the bank for a while until a flood took it away. Below Radford was the Arsenal and lord only knows what they dumped in the river along that stretch...but it looked pretty dead and I never caught fish along there.

I also don't ever recall anyone catching any trout in that river...but its possible because they stocked many cricks in that area and I guess a trout could run the gauntlet and actually get to the river.

We used to go "gigging" at night for huge carp. The river was full of them and we'd pole along with a spot light and a gig attached to a 10' wooden pole...usually we'd pole upriver because the carp couldn't see you coming since they'd be lying up stream as well. You could see those monsters a ways away (20~30 lbs) but you'd have to be almost on top of them before striking because of their size and strength.

The carp were absolutely terrible tasting and a river sandwich was usually a better choice.

      Tat,
My grandfather used to can carp in mason jars and you're right, those carp chunks were terrible.

I read about this guy somewhere in your neck of the woods who catches tons of chinese carp from one of the great lakes, you know those carp that jump out of the water when boats pass by and have been known to land in the boats and strike a few people in the process...a 6' long torpedo.

Anyway, he grinds up those fish and sells the slurry to china (I seem to recall he gets 30 cents/pound). I'm guessing it finds its way back into our food supply somehow...belch.

Your chart really indicates how the vast majority of us are at the mercy of the market direction. Only 2 of 19 contestants significantly differed from general market . Great job Peanuts. Do that a couple more times and I'll buy your newsletter whenever it is published.

I draw a different conclusion...and that is (assuming that some of you actually bought real shares) you can't expect the markets to go up continuously, only savings accounts can do that, and that you have to expect some give and take and not get scared out at every little blip...or you'll constantly be chasing stocks, or running from them. A strong company will withstand some bad weather in the markets and come back stronger once things clear...a little patience will pay larger dividends.

                          Congratulations, Peanuts!

My remark about my exuberance was perfectly timed. I am still long CHAP.
