Ides of March Contest

How about an Ides of March Stock Picking Contest ? Here are the rules:

1. Make one stock pick between 5.00 and 15.00 before March 15th. Longs only.

2. Your stock will be given the open price on March 15th. Any pick that opens over 15.00 will be disqualified. Pick an alternate if your first pick might break 15 before or at opening on March 15th.

3. I will post standings periodically, probably weekly.

4. Contest ends at market close Dec. 13th , which believe it or not, is the Ides of December. This will help those concerned with end of year selloff.

5. Your reward should you win will be an honored place in the eyes of Mr. Market and all the thousands of his followers. It doesn't get much better than that.

6. Let the submissions begin.

Magna is also MGA on NYSE (out of price range for the contest). The Detroit newspapers have carried several stories speculating on whether Magna will try to buy Chrysler. Search on Magna or Stronach. Local friends who work at Magna like the corporate culture.

Only 3 contestants so far. Think of the bargains between $5.00 and $15.00 after today. It can get worse at least it did for Caesar on the 15th. He didn't have a good day on March 13 either , but they don't mention it much in the history books. We've got to get at least 10 guesses for this to be legit. Think of the glory. Winning a contest on the famed Mr.Market site. It doesn't get much better than that.

I pick BPHX. We need at least 4 more contestants before open tomorrow. I know lots of you guys come up with dynamite picks in the $5--$15 range. River , we know you've got what it takes, Mr.Market, you can spare a pick, Grebnet has a great reputation, Lyehopper always has a few gems hidden away. Everyone, just throw out a pick between $5 and $15 . I think there are some great bargains out there and remember, by the time this contest ends (Dec. 13th) we might be in the mother of all bull markets. Thanks
