You're right! Gotta read the fine print at the bottom of the page! They've been advertizing this service for months, to begin in "March." Wonder if they aren't getting the response they were expecting!

"If you subscribe, you pay only $399.95 for the first year of your annual subscription — a savings of $100 off the regular annual price of $499.95. Unless you cancel before the end of that year, your subscription will automatically renew at the then-current annual subscription price."

"Offer applies only to new annual subscriptions, and is subject to change at any time. Void where prohibited."

Also offered: "Only $59.95/mo. Subscribe Now.
Only $499.95/yr. Subscribe now and save $219 over the
        annualized monthly rate*"

Nothing is cheap at thestreet.com. But 59.95 per month sure seems like a lot of money to me compared to other subscription services they offer for individual stock picks. Besides, what I don't understand is why we need the Rev to figure out which ETFs are hot or not anyway. To me, ETFs just spread the risk over a bundle of stocks. And, I have to admit, I've never made enough in the very few ETFs I've owned in the past to justify that kind of cost. So, my money stays in my piggy bank.

          The Shark's Picks

First of all, thank you to PEANUTS for enabling me to upload these images! His instructions were superb.

These charts illustrate only the Rev. Shark Stock of the Week picks that I have actually entered in the POTW. The first chart shows the opening and closing prices as listed on Yahoo for the dates involved. As you can see, if I had gone with these prices only, I would have had a loss of 7.86%!

BUT, the Rev. gives guidance along with his picks, especially giving entry ranges, stops, and what he expects the stock to do for the week.

SO, the second chart shows my actual entry and exit prices (where available on the POTW charts) when I entered them in the POTW. Now, I show a gain of 15.12%! The most notable reason for this is that the day he picked SOLF long, was the day the China market tanked. So I shorted SOLF instead, with great results.

In future posts beginning Monday AM, I will give the Rev.'s details for each of his Stocks of the Week (these are available free of charge to the public on his website) and will continue to track them, as long as anybody here remains interested.

First of all, those worksheets look great! Good job.

I'll be interested to see what the Shark is trading. Dave once mentioned that I must have been following the guy because we happened to be trading the same stock (SWHC) that week. Maybe he knows what he's doing

It's good to see someone putting the bold button to use again.

Well, let's see. I guess you're not a fisherman! I mean, surely you've heard of fish runs, like salmon runs. For me, it was just what I naturally know! Fish run!

Anyway, a very short search on Google, produced the following:

"When fishing with live bait, you must let the fish run with the bait (take line) before you set the hook. - Mark Heverly E-bait Inc."

"When a snapper takes the bait, it usually makes a short but quick run, swallowing the bait as it goes. The rear drag on the reel usually screams at this stage. The rod is then picked up and if the reel is thrown into gear allowing the hook to be set. If the fish has stopped running, or has dropped the bait, wait a few seconds as the snapper may return for another look. Taking up some of the slack line at this time will give an indication as to what is happening at the pointy end. Fish often make a run towards the boat so it is important to keep in touch and feel for a response. A second run of fish generally takes place after dark."

"Fish ran in good numbers right up to the end of the season and beyond; however, several days were lost due to high, coloured water towards the end of the year with the river over the fields on a number of occasions. Fish, fresh and coloured, some really big ones amongst them, were still running at the beginning of December."

Frankly, I just picture the Rev. taking the bait (stock) and running with it until he meets too much resistance, or spitting it out when it violates a stop. I guess I don't want to be swimming with the sharks. I want to be running with the shark! You sees? Riverbabe

I need to clarify this chart. It doesn't mean that the Rev would have had a 7.86% loss. His stops would have triggered on at least SOLF and LVS before they got out of hand.

OK River...You got me there...So what is Rev's Pick of the Week???

If MAIL shows up in the next 3-4 weeks then....I'll be ticked...LOL

As far as I know...Rev Shark's theme...Which isn't really too bad, Is that SHARKS (Us small people) can take advantage of the WHALES (Big $$$ People) if we can identify what they will do...Of Course, we need his help to do so at astronomical prices...LOL...My only real problem w/ him is that he charges WAY TOO MUCH for stuff we can get for FREE!!!.

                            Brush Engineered Materials (BW)

                            March 26th
                            Stock of the Week

Our Stock of the Week is Brush Engineered Materials (BW). Brush is a leading international producer and supplier of high-performance engineered materials. It is the only fully-integrated producer of beryllium, beryllium-containing alloys, and beryllia ceramic in the world. Further information about the business can be found here.

The company announced a very strong quarter in mid-February and guided its earnings estimates up substantially. The company I expected to see earnings grow 82% in 2007 to $2.51 and another 22% in 2008 to $3.07. With a PE of 32 on trailing earnings of $1.38 the stock represents a very good value especially considering the likelihood of further estimate increases.

The stock has shown excellent relative strength lately versus the broader market and the the metal fabrication sector is one of the strongest in the market. After a “W” shaped pattern formed over the last month or so it is in good technical shape for a move to an all time high.

I have an existing position and will look to add to it further either on a low volume pullback to the 47 area or on a high volume move to a new high.

(By Riverbabe: Sorry I didn't make the image larger. Will try again next week. In the meantime, check your own charts. By the way, I read the fine print on the copyright page and I think it only applies to the subscription services, so I don't think I'm violating it by reproducing this. I HOPE...!)
