Almost 10 more years gone by, and I'm still holding! (Just picked up some more AFLYY, actually, at $1.3 this month)

Why did this pick resurface after 7 years? My dog looks similar to the airline pooch but mine would eat anything it found.

Well, I got my opportunity again today. This time I'm taking it. Added a 1% position to my AKH today at 34, for a total of about 3% now.

    What gives?

What the heck is going on with Air France?

AKH seems to be dropping like a brick this week. But why? Looking at the numbers, a $34 stock price just doesn't make sense. At $34/shr, AKH is valued at $9B, and the net assets are $10B. Yahoo! gives AKH a book value over $40/shr. Earnings are estimated (again by Yahoo's figures) to be 4.7 and 5.2 bucks a share for 07 and 08. And this is revised up from 4.3 and 5.1 over the last two months, while the stock is down from $50 to $34. So if it's worth $40+ in cash, and they'll make another $10 in two years, how does the market value AKH at $34? Anyone ride Air France lately, and think they'll be out of business or something in a few years? Is there a plot to hijack Air France planes that only a few powerful hedge funds know about?

I'm thinking about adding to my AKH position, but I want to make sure I'm not plunging more into a potential MFLX or BEL situation, where they bite off more than they can chew, say with an acquisition of a poorly-run Italian airline or something silly like that. Does anyone have an opinion on the potential Alitalia merger? Is that likely to happen, and would AKH benefit?

    Nice Earnigns Report Today

Looks like The Huge One was right on the money with a strong, reliable earnings prediction. He may have been a couple weeks early, but that's better than a couple weeks late and a heck of a lot better than being wrong.

AKH almost made my Spike's 8 list this past weekend. It got to the Top 15 and was culled.

But long at 51.22 and risking 4% is a very valid setup for it according to the S8 system rules.

    I'm in!

Great pick, $$MM! And a superb writeup, as always. I'm in at 51 and a quarter. This one will hit 60 in no time.

I've noticed it on a few occassions where waiting a day or two would have proved extremely beneficial on the entry. It's like placing buy orders in "at the market" instead of specifying a "limit order". With the "at the market" order you're at their mercy and get what they give you. Years ago I would place buy orders at the market and was always getting the higher price because I wanted that stock and that was all there was to it. I've come to learn that with the limit orders I either get what I want when I want it and if I don't then I forget about it and move on to the next one or revise my plan for a different entry and overall strategy.

Perhaps 5 or 6 points cheaper because it did drop dramatically right after your entry. I'm not condemning the trade only the point of entry. My whole premise is that taking into consideration the technical aspects of the chart at the moment could prove to be beneficial entry point wise. But that's what makes a horse race.

I am not worried about VIP either. Yes, it may pullback, but I think she hits the target plus some.
