Wine Insiders 12 Exceptional Bottles Cheap!
A few days ago I placed an order for 12 Exceptional Wine Bottles from "Wine Insiders, ( 1-800-615-7304 ) a company that ships expertly chosen wine to your front door via FedEx. I chose selection #KM12 . The wines are 6 reds and 6 whites. For the reds I will receive 2 each of : Woolshed 2005 Shiraz Victoria Australia, Mandolin 2005 Merlot, California, and Spencer Family 2005 Cabernet Savignon, California. For the Whites I will receive 2 each of : Yvon Mau 2006 Columbard Chardonnay, Cotes du Gascogne, France, Boreletto 2006 Pinot Grigio, Veneto Italy , and Cannery Row 2005 Chardonnay, California. I know next to nothing about wine , but for me it does appear to be a good mix.
The Promo code is A384 and runs until July 30th, 2007. The total cost to me for the 12 bottles was $115.43 ( Which includes the NJ 7 % State Tax) Shipping is free FED EX to my frnt door. Call the above number and mention the promo code .....I am sure you can get the same deal.
Why I like the company.
1) I ordered from the company once before and was well satisfied.
2) 100% money back guranteed if not satisfied for the TOTAL cost of your shipment.
3) NO CLUBS to Join or that Auto Ship BS I hate that.
4) They use FEd EX as a shipper. They say an adult over 21 must be home to sign for the shipment, but last time I was not home and received a slip for the shipment. I signed it pasted it on my front door and the shipment was left at my front door the next day. ( I would not recommend this if you live in a ghetto neighborhood.....as the local Winos have noses like Sharks ....and your wine shipment will be long gone before you arrive home LOL)
5) If you decide to order ....please let us know at this post ....how you made out !

mimo,
I worked at the predecessor of the Fireland's Winery (Mantey's Winery) in 1970-1971. It was usually pleasant work except for when the grapes were ground in through a large wringer washer type apparatus. When it got jammed and it did often by the tiniest pebble or stick, you'd have to stick your arm into the wringer and find the obstruction. If someone forgot to turn off the grinder and you unjammed it you'd be pulled into the wringer. Also after all the liquids were pumped out of the 1500 gallon vats we'd get in and shovel out what was left. There would be large science fiction type bubbles up to 2 feet in diameter with unusual fumes that could knock you out as you bent over and got a good whiff. There were stories of individuals dying in the vats. Overall it was fun and the wine smelled good. I ate about 3 pounds of grapes each day with no ill effects.

I also like Newcastle Ale.
I did some "La fin du monde" once and I did not know it was a 9%
beer. It was great. Also it was interesting trying to get off the barstool.

OK now, these comments deserve some follow-up, but I'm not wearing my sitcom writer hat at the moment. My first thought was, "I'll bet that's not your liver talking."Last edited by Guest; 07-11-2007, 07:12 PM.

Cheese recommendation: Manchego from Spain
Before I make any wine recs, I must offer this as my very favorite cheese at the moment. It is made from sheep's milk and has a little bit of nuttiness made into it. Relatively strong but very good and with a surprisingly pleasant aftertaste. I had been buying this at my supermarket, then looked up how to find a better price for it, such as from Amazon.com. Yesterday I found it at Costco for a pretty good price, maybe better than mail order.
Here is a little background info:
