I use limit orders so can't comment on fill speeds. Haven't any complaints about Scottrade in that respect. The IB site is easy to navigate but so far I've only looked at options & underlying. Haven't yet tried to set up watch lists or anything. Basically, I'm only going to use it for options trading. I'm still using Scottrade for everything else and still getting used to Scottrade Elite vs. the original version. There's a whole lot of info. at hand there and have been so busy doing "real work" I haven't had time to completely figure it out yet but have set up some screens I'm comfortable with.

I don't think there is a minimum number of trades. The fees stay the same for all. I just paid 2.50 for 2 trades involving 3 contracts. It's $1 per trade plus a small transaction fee at the CBOE, ISE, et al.

River, congrats on graduating to a fine direct access broker! Would recommend you practise on the demo TWS and set up hot keys for order execution.
Practice, schmactice. I'm in with real $$ already! Have plenty of hand-holders on this forum (as in "this is what I am doing and this is why. Follow my example and I will teach you"! Besides, love to hold hands ). And yeah, I had to rationalize the answers to some of the questions, especially the ones on "straddles." Got most, 85% right on the first try, 14% on the second, and 1% well, 4th try. Have figured out the TWS without the demo (they don't make it too hard!) but, if can find time this weekend, will work thru it.

Ernie overlap with Rev Shark possible set-ups for week of July 16th.

    CMED, CMG, ONNN.

No overlap with IIC 100. No overlap with IIC Cup w/Handle.

Interesting. Nothing more than that. Good luck Ernie.
How do you know there is no overlap w/ my Cups w/ Handles list...I have not even posted it yet???

I'm running a little behind schedule because I didn't look at that many charts yesterday...But my list will be up in a few hours...I take a lot of breaks.

Anyway...there is some overlap on what I've got so far...WSII DSTI IRBT OPSW will be on this week's CwH list although a couple are a stretch...Also, BSQR will be on the patterns of interest list.

Glad to hear it NBB...However, SIMO didn't breakout on Friday at least according to my Mr. Breakout definition of a breakout.

SIMO brokeout on 7/9...it pulled back but didn't fail...tried again on 7/11...it pulled back...I now put the Flash Point at 28.21 which could be described as a new breakout if the volume is there or you could just say the breakout on 7/9 continued...But it doesn't really matter as long as you made money

Yeah, we think alike because we both follow the "Reverend Shark!" LOL
And yes, I read the post from Tatnic that it's "Revenue Shark," but I think he worships money anyway . . . . (No, I don't subscribe to the Shark; only to MM forums Just having some fun with you).

Glad to hear that you are a good student! I sold 2 July ICE $160 calls (exp. next Friday) on Thursday at $11.20 per contract and repurchased them at $9.20 for a quick $397 profit. (Dummy me! I should have covered them at $8.20 just one half hour later . . . for an extra $200 profit). That option chain is $$$$RICH$$$$. Friday the AUG $170 calls are netting you about $11 per share right now--on a $167 stock. Pretty nice.
