Another Contest. This one has Prizes!!

Have you ever noticed how hard it is for a stock to get from <$10 to $15 or greater? I'm willing to bet nobody can pick an under $10 stock from the NYSE ,NASDAQ, or AMEX that will close at $15 or higher by close Friday Dec.21st. You can make 1 pick starting today and ending Friday Sept28th. If any stock closes above $15 before Dec.21st, you'll win one of these fabulous prizes.

!st place-----Hardcover copy 5th Edition Graham & Dodd's "Security Analysis"

2nd place----Hardcover copy Kenneth Fisher's "100 Minds that Made the Market"

3rd place----paperback copies Wm O'Neil's "24 Essential Lessons for Investing Success" and "The Successful Investor". These 2 are a bit dogeared.

Your stock must close the day at or above $15 to be a winner. Start your homework, due diligence, and research and show us your stuff!

Only stocks with gains will be posted periodically during contest run. The price of your stock will be based on the opening price the day after your selection if made during market hours.

Sounds good...I like contests w/ prizes...In fact I will be running a contest on my site in the next month or so...I have the prizes (free subs to paid sites)...But I have not figured out what the contest should be about yet.

Now...On your contest...Am I right that the first one to close above $15 before the deadline would get the 1st prize...The second one...etc???

Not much of a 3rd place prize you are offering though...LOL

Interesting contest, Billy. I'm a little puzzled about the premise, though, as it seems to suggest it's less difficult for stocks $10 and greater to gain more than 50% in 3 months. I would say there are compelling arguments that it's even more difficult for the higher-priced stocks to gain that much, but I haven't done any studies on the subject and maybe you have.

Nevertheless, I will try to come up with a pick, but I haven't got one yet.
            —Rob

              Doug,
You are correct. The first person to pick a stock under $10 that closes at $15 or more before market close Dec.21st wins 1st prize.

                Rob,
I don't have numbers to back it up, but I believe the % of stocks under $10 that ever gain enough to crack $15 is smaller than the % of stocks over $10 that ever gain 50%.

What am I doing here? I guess the Real Prizes are irresistible. But OK: CRDC. BTW, AOB certainly looks like a nice one for this contest.

                            Jiesen,
I hate to tell you that AOB opened at $10.00 not under $10 and therefore is ineligible . Since you picked before the market opened the price is today's open.

Peanuts is in with TWLL @9.27. Karel is in with CRDC @9.30. I think Spike and Stenz posted after open so will get tomorrows opening price.
