I know for sure they are using auto bidding for thei own purpose of shill bidding.

I proved it today over and over.

This does not help anyone else having been ripped off already but listen folks for those about to try the site---when you are left with that annoying person that won't give up the bid and keeps on going against you ---it just probably might be a machine...easily recognized by the lack of individuality in the names they use like aaiifk...or seeinkku..yyuunifurk...etc etc ..a muddle mess of alphabet. As soon as you bid to their expected amount (hidden) then the dummy will give up..most times you are bidding against their own shill bidding auto machine. Yes...I proved it today again. I know it was an auto bid agaisnt me bidding today ..whats more I can now prove it..

Bidz.com wants to protect their items from being sold for next to nothing that I understand ---but be honest--- open a website and lay your prices down on the line ..stop this sneaky way of frauding people.
You should have been caught for this practice a long time ago, shill bidding is considered a crime...It amazes me your still open for business, I hadnt heard of you until now, and you have been getting away with this for how long?...

As for the rest of your business practices from what I have been reading here at the rip off site..they are also questionable!

    me again!

Ordered a ring from Bidz.com, after 2 weeks and not the receiving item, even though they charged me for priority shipping, I contacted bidz and they sent me an email to file a claim. They gave me the tracking number and I checked with the Post Office and it stated it was never delivered and quite honestly I dont believe they even mailed it. Bidz sent me a form to fill out and have notorized and I did this, I then mailed it back to them. Now they are stating they never received my claim form and cancelled my account when I filed a dispute with paypal. This company needs to be investigated and shut down. I told them I purchased an item, paid for it and never received it, that is stealing. That is what this company does, it steals from its customers. Do not buy from them. I am hoping paypal will do the right things and give me my 48.00 back, time will tell

Schill Bidding...that thot crossed my mind too...The auto-bids may contribute to that thot tho since you can place them and they will activate during the last 15 secs.

Shipping policy...Do not like it...Before I read it I emailed them...Because it says you cannot make a claim for non delivery after 48 hrs of when the item is scheduled for delivery...But when is it scheduled???...I read their rules and my item should be shipped on Monday USPS priority mail...but the email response I got said 8-15 days...So when is it?

Well...If I don't have my watch by Wednesday I will file a claim...And if I have any problems...I'm not a nice person to deal with in that type of situation...Especially when I can walk right down to their offices and create a scene with their employees and the their neighbors...However, at this point I'd like to be positive and think that they will come thru...Will keep you posted.

I'm betting that you bought a piece of crap for your $200.00 and that you don't get the watch or your money back. Very bad bet on your part, especially the money up front part without any protection, only their word which appears to be crap also.

Just kidding with you Doug. But you did know going into that site and bidding process that this stuff happens from time to time. I have heard a number of negative reports from people about the site and the merchandise. I'm hoping it works out well for you and that you get what you bought. Otherwise just trying to get a rise out of you. Good luck with it.

Doug I always try to pay with CREDIT card........then you are PROTECTED. Just inform the credit company of the SCAM .and they will investigate and in all all probability after about a month they will credit back your account.......sending a check or cash is tough?

I couldn't agree with you more Pete. I pay almost everything thru Amer. Xpress and have on several occassions had to ask them to not pay the invoice for goods which didn't work or measure up to what I thought I was buying. They protect and standup up for you because they are usually larger and have more clout than the seller of the goods if it came down to court. Paying anything by check or cash in a deal over the internet is hazardous. They got your money and it's hard to get to them.

                      I paid using Paypal.

Also, I finally figured out the watch model...and I found it for $679 elsewhere...we'll see.

Also, last night we went out to dinner and afterwards we drove by BIDZ headquarters...a big place in an industrial area...no name on the building

                        Doug,

Keep us posted on the watch -- curious if you got the deal or got dealt.

Stock had a pretty impressive day in this crappy market. Closed almost right where it opened on HUGE volume. I shoulda picked up some around 17.20 but chickened out.

Also, it closed the gap from yesterday by matching yesterdays high of 17, which was exactly todays low.

BIDZ should do well until Christmas ....especially with black friday coming ,,,,but keep a very tight trailing stop.......After Christmas should be fun .....as people decide to exchange the crap that got ....or God forbid ask for a refund ......that is when the S*** will really hit the fan .......and BIDZ will fold like a cheap camera. I would hate to be BIBZ refund employee taking those calls ......It will probably make a sailor's bar with all the cursing and swearing that goes on there ..seem like a church......compared to the language from the customers on the BIDZ complaint line . LOL

To be honest I didn't know much about the company...and I had forgotten about the old posts Karel pointed out...It just came up on last weekend's scans and I dt'd it.

But this is not a new company...It has been around at least 9 years and it had a predecessor co....Asset Lenders of America, which I believe was essentially a pawn shop operation...It IPO'd this year and they do need to update some of the old info on their site.

I showed my wife the site over the weekend and a woman at the office today...they both love the action...Fortunately, both agreed to wait till I got my order to start using it...Come to think of it it might be better if I do get screwed over...My wife loves EBAY and it might be better if she doesn't get hooked on BIDZ

                              Bidz $20+

Well, with all the discussions we all had, I hope that some of you made good $$$ on BIDZ.

It's now trading above $20 - will it stay there come next week, who knows, but from $17 to $20 is some good $.

                                Well...I got my watch today.

It is one of the models that I suspected but it is not the model I hoped it was.

Now that I got it I can check out the comparables.

BIDZ said it retailed at $1555...Now that I know the model number I believe that is inflated...Although, it appears that it retails for 1/2 that.

It is very nice and I'm satisfied although I've seen it go for $135 to $239 at BIDZ...I got it under the midpoint...But I am not yet a savvy bidder and the avg. seems to be right about where I got it.

I did some searches now that I have the model number and I did find it for $249...So it seems I got a pretty good deal but not nearly as good as BIDZ would have one believe.

Here it is at the cheapest site I found:

PageNotFound : Shop from the comfort of home with ShopHQ and find kitchen and home appliances, jewelry, electronics, beauty products and more by top designers and brands.

So far it has kept accurate time the last 2 hours since I got home.

                                Also...The box is really cool

Now...w/o going back to see if I posted here while I'm writing this...They also have Ebel and Movado watches...which my wife wants...I went to the Ebel site and it says...Watches offered on the internet are either counterfeit or of dubious origin...So, I emailed them via their Question Form on ebel.com and got this response...I'm including my original question...Don't worry...That is not my home address...It is a private PO box addy...although I don't live that far from that addy in case anyone is looking for me...LOL
                                --------------------------

                                Dear Mr. Gregory:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding internet vendors.

Please be advised that our products are sold only through authorized retailers and not through internet vendors including the internet vendor you mentioned. Internet vendors obtain their goods from a variety of channels and for this reason our manufacturer’s warranty does not apply to such sales. Additionally, watches sold by unauthorized vendors could be counterfeit, seconds or refurbished. In the United States, Movado sells directly only to authorize retailers, with the very limited exception of occasional liquidation sales of certain discontinued merchandise. Grey market goods (merchandise sold outside of the manufacturer’s established distribution channels) and counterfeit goods continue to be problems for most manufacturers of luxury goods, including watches. We would like you to know that Movado devotes considerable resources to fighting counterfeit and grey market goods. Although Movado's efforts in this regard are largely effective, it is impossible for us or any other manufacturer to completely eliminate grey market and counterfeit goods. Movado can only guarantee the authenticity of watches purchased from our authorized dealers. Moreover, watches that are purchased from unauthorized retailers are not covered by the terms of our manufacturer’s limited warranty.

                                Best regards,

                                Customer Service
                                Movado Group Inc.

COMMENTS: You mention on your site that people should not buy Ebel watches on the internet because they are either counterfeit or of "dubious" origin...However, your watches are all over the place at a major company... Bidz.com
Are you saying that Bidz.com offerings fall into this catagory???...Sounds like a very large legal battle will ensue if true. I would like to know as I am a customer of Bidz.com and if they are selling fake or stolen merchandise I want to know...thx...Doug
