    The decline of the dollar

Does anyone have a good graphical representation of the dollar against other currencies over the last 3 years?

I was doing some quick research on the Dollar vs:

    Yen
    Australian Dollar
    Korean Won
    Indian Rupee
    S. African Rand
    Euro
    Chinese Yuan

    The data is quite scary.

What kind of graphing website works the best for this?

Here's what the USD index has done in the past 3 years:

Check out that "SHS" and neckline break in Q2 06.

btw, We ordered 303 stainless flat-bar yesterday @ $3.98 per pound.... Same material up 28% in 60 days. It's not a "supply" issue because the inventories are there, it's the weak $USD.... I can't remember ever seeing this kind of price instability since I've been in business (1985).... This ain't good fellas, not good at all.

On the bright side.... It's snowing here and it's beautiful! Plus we REALLY need the precipitation.

I miss your wit and sarcasm Lye. You should post more often.

          Cad

Peanuts, the ticker for the Canadian dollar is CAD. That chart v. USD should pop some eyeballs! And it's snowing here too, Lye. Truly lovely. River

Starting to snow here also. Not sure if we are expecting any accumulation.

Did you ever consider shipping overseas? The Australian Dollar seems strong against the US Dollar.... maybe some Australians could use your products?

Peanuts, this is a link to a free Forex charting site. I have plotted USD/CAD but haven't figured out how to upload the chart to here. I know you will figure it out.

On a very personal level, I have been cheering for the USD decline. Our inheritance from our mother was in CAD and, thanks Mom, because you were ready and wanted to die anyway, your timing could not have been better. This is not meant to sound as bad as it undoubtedly does. We would all still much rather have her than any amount of $.

                      River,
A friend of mine was going to Canada to a Shakespearian festival in October. He went to a local bank asking about exchange rates. They told him they could exchange it for him and checked the current rate and gave him about 1.23 Canadian for each U.S. dollar. I told him that had to be a mistake since my CNE which I still owned was giving me .96 at that time in U.S. dollars for each CAD in the monthly div. The bank has "Cleveland" in its name and I know the biggest shareholder and wouldn't touch the stock with a 9.96 foot pole. Just checked and it may have hit a 52 week low today.

Stratford, Ontario, the home of the Shakespeare Festival is 18 miles from where I was born. I gained 5.8% on the dollar in the inheritance. The 23% you are talking about is highly unlikely! Wow, I wouldn't go near the stock of that local bank either. River

Don't get me started on the decline of the US dollar! When I started to invest in stocks I decided to do it in the USA, and sold my €€€ for $$$ at a rate of 1.16 (July 2001). It is now about .68 or so, a decline of 40%. What with having to find my way in investing, a general slump at the beginning, 9/11, and this, it is almost a miracle I have scored 4% (and as yet still growing) annually over this period (in €€€ of course!). I have been above water for about two years now.

                            Regards,
