    New Years Resolutions for 2008

My goal for 2008 is to swim the 50m freestyle in a Senior Olympic event in Ohio.

Financial Goal.... Achieve a return of at least 11% on stock market investments. Actually any return under double digits would be very disappointing and I think this will be a very good year. Eliminating stupid mistakes will get me over 15%.

    What are your goals?

My #1 goal for 2008 is to qualify for the Boston Marathon (by running 26.2 miles in 3 hours 10 min or under)

My #1 financial goal is to see a 100% or better increase in the share price of my largest stock holding (LJPC) and at least a 20% appreciation in all my equity investments combined. #2 for me is to buy a home. #3 is to earn my first promotion.

        Good goal Billy.

Since I will be 55 this year...which I have been waiting for...I am planning on entering the WORLD SENIOR OLYMPICS in the Standing Long Jump...I was pretty good at that but unfortunately the California and the National Senior Olympics do do have that event...Some states do and you don't have to be a resident of a particular state to compete.

Nevada and Arizona have it and the World's will be in Utah next October.

I will have to practice and I believe I know the best exercises and training methods for it...But I'm open for suggestions.

The standing long jump is not a heavily emphasized event and besides Jr High, A competition in college and an Over 30's decathlon I was in long ago I have not practiced the SLJ except in my yard about 4 years ago for 2 days.

I have no illusions about an AGE GROUP WORLD RECORD which is on 107" but at 95" I can be competitive...I'm fairly certain I can still go over 100" with practice...4 years ago I just stepped up and went 97" w/ no practice....The best I ever remember jumping was 117".

        We'll see...If I can get close to 100" I'll go...If not...Well, probably not...I don't like to enter contests that I don't think I can win...
