    Interesting Stocks

Thought I’d start a thread where we could throw out some interesting stock ideas. I’ll start with a couple.

QBTS (D-Wave Quantum Inc): As the name suggests this company builds quantum computers, a technology that promises to be game changing. D-Wave was one of the first companies in this space as a commercial operation. What makes them interesting now is that they recently announced their earnings, and revenue grew by over 500% year-over-year. Now don’t get too excited because they’re burning cash and their revenue was only $15 million in the last quarter. Nevertheless, this is one to watch because the long term potential is huge.

CRWV (CoreWeave Inc): This company provides cloud infrastructure with a focus on supporting Generative AI. This company just reported a 400%+ year-over-year revenue bump, and the stock is soaring. This company just recently IPO’d, and like most early stage companies, they’re burning cash. If they keep pumping out earnings growth, however, this could be a big winner long term.

DISCLOSURE: I do not currently own shares in either company, although I am watching them for possible scalp/day trade opportunities or pullbacks/bases that provide an opportunity for a good entry.

Great finds, BW! I have owned QBTS and its competitor QUBT for 4 months now, and am up about 166% on QBTS (QUBT has not gone anywhere... yet). I picked them up at the same time I bought into BBAI, another AI play. For the ideal AI system, you will need a quantum computer, and there are just a few companies out there that can make one currently. These are the most likely ones to succeed in the space, AKAIK. If you think otherwise, please share the intel!

By the way, a US-based company that makes the chips for the QBTS quantum computer is SKYT, which I also own some shares in. If the US gets serious about moving chip production back home, then SKYT should do very well.

        I’ll check out SKYT. Thanks.

Well, after rocketing from $33 to $187 in just two months, it looks like CRWV is finally facing a reality check. From a technical perspective, it looks like it might be a good short candidate for the near term, but it’s on the Hard-to-Borrow (HB) list at my broker so even if I wanted to I can’t. Wish I had traded it on the way up, but despite the strong bump in revenue there just wasn’t enough information for me to put a reasonable valuation on it. I was therefore hesitant to trade it knowing it was likely to fall just as quickly as it rose. Still, the company has an interesting product, so I’ll keep it on my radar.
