Dynamic Materials reports second-quarter loss of $1.3 million
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) _ Dynamic Materials Corp. (BOOM) on Tuesday reported a second-quarter loss of $1.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Boulder, Colorado-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents. Losses, adjusted for restructuring costs, were 3 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 7 cents per share.
The welding company and maker of explosion-welded clad metal plates posted revenue of $44.7 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $43 million.
Dynamic Materials shares have declined 34 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $10.54, a drop of 49 percent in the last 12 months.
