I don't think the Gov't would let that happen...There would be some kind of merger-bailout deal if it got that bad.

Citi following the news of Ambac's plan. Thought I read an article about an analyst cutting their estimated earnings but still has its target price at 34. Pandit coming out today to ensure that the company is "financially sound." I know write ups and bad earnings will continue so it will continue to be around 20s worst late teens but you have to still be confident in their long term future. It is Citigroup and Prince was as dirty as they come and he's finally gone.

Maybe C comes back somewhere in the future and maybe it doesn't...But I don't know why anyone would want to buy down here waiting for it to come back when they could be putting those dollars to work in something more likely to move in the near future.

This may not apply to anyone here but I've heard it over and over for 30+ years..."It is such a good company...it has to come back"...Well, it doesn't have to come back.

Lets say C goes back to 44 in 6 years...You buy now and make 100%...That's only 12% year compounded...Not much of a return IMO

I am watching that $19 support. If that fails, it gets real ugly, real quick.

Fed's taking us for a ride up? The market has stayed strong throughout as opposed to last time the fed's cut the rate and in the end their was a major sell-off.

Another Hail Mary pass by the FED.

Ever wonder why it took the FED so long to admit there are problems?

Ever wonder why the FED is making all these temporary desperation measures?

this is just a three day up move coming, nothing more. Then reality will set in: people will begin to realize, that, hey, nothing has really changed. The Fed is just printing more money to keep these crummy banks from folding, and inflation is going to run rampant, and oil will certainly hit $130-$150 before April 15. Inflation isn't good for the market.

The Gov't is not reporting the correct CPI numbers...Consider how much more you are paying for everyday stuff...It is outrageous.

DJ-CITIGROUP CEO SAYS BIG ASSET SALES COMING

Citigroup Chief Executive Vikram Pandit says the bank plans to shed assets to reorganize its business. Analysts say the giant bank will shed hundreds of billions of dollars worth of assets to support a turnaround.

Can anyone believe Bear Stearns, a triple digit priced stock, as low as mid 20s.
