I'd be willing to bet that he pulls the ball often- based on looking at that snapshot of his swing. Tell him to keep the bat away from the back of his head while waiting for the pitch... more in a 'ready' position. Also, his knuckles are not in the right position. Have him take a few swings with him gripping the bat while his knocking knuckles are all in a line. (knocking knuckles are the ones you use to knock on doors)
That should get him away from pulling the ball... if that's a problem for him.
Is he a pitcher? He would be an intimidating character on the mound.Hide not your talents.
