Power - saver Look to be a HOAX

This was posted on the web , apparently one guy spills the beans lol and that is "bean juice". HE feels the Power Saver is a Scam .....Oh well back to the drawing board!

      "Saving money on utility bills

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Has anyone heard of or seen this device called the Power-Save 1200. I was interested in it but really do not understand electricity enough to see if their claims are true and if this unit works. There are other types of this unit out there but this was by far the cheapest at $300 and seems to have the best info. I would appreciate any feedback anyone might have on this,
      Thanks.
Oh by the way, I remember when I first started reading about burning veg oil in my truck and thought this can't be real, but 9000 miles later, it is.

      Undercover SCAM

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Scam is the short answer.
A full explanation would be a somewhat lengthy dissertation. This scam comes around every few years. If you notice, this unit has a surge suppressor in it. The suppressor probably works, albeit not necessarily very effectively, that way they get around the false claim charges etc...Under the premise that the product "CAN " correct your power factor, AND "DOES" suppresse surges. Only a partial mis truth, not a total.

If you're really interested, your local power provider should be able to tell you your power factor, amount of inductive load and resistive load. Then contact your local mathematician and ask him to solve for C in the following equation. Then go to an electronic parts store and buy a capacitor and wire it into your house.

      2 x pi x 60 x (inductive load calculated/measured by your power provider) = 1/2 x pi x 60 x C

ps: I can't operate my keyboard well enough to write the equation correctly.
The above is XL(2pifL)=Xc(1/2pifc). Hum that doesn't look much better. How do you type the pi symbol? Just google "inductive reactance" and capacitive reactance to see the equations. We use 60hz as the f in the USA. "

Gee and I really thought it would work.....than GOD for the internet!

A few years back, I went 2 weeks and didn't burn even one kilowatt of electricity...thanks to hurricane Ivan. Man it was great to get the power back on....

There are very few things that are not scams when they are so cheap.
