Questions on Mr Market Stock Picking Model

I'm stuck on step no. 6. (i.e., ranking the stocks) with price appreciation. My 1st problem is that I need a clear definition. My thought is the % increase of the stock price over the past year. Where specifically can I get this data? I have MSN, Yahoo, IBD, etc. but I'm really not sure how to get this data.

Ideally, I'd like to export the symbols from Excel to a website and have it plug in the price appreciation & trailing p/e and then export back to Excel, but I can't even figure out how to find the price appreciation of a single stock!

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Spider,
You could go to bigcharts.marketwatch.com and look up any stock for any time period and figure it out. Good luck.

      Hey spidey,

Take the 52 month low, and take today's price...divide the difference in price by the 52 month low and you have the percent price appreciation.

      Good luck!

Thank you! I didn't invest in any of them. I'm going to wait 4-6 weeks (just like Mr. Mkt suggests) to see how they end up. I'll run the model again at that time, do my DD, and then I'm in. I'll post them.
