When do you buy/sell?

This is a question directected at those that hold stocks medium-long term with a set system for picking, buying, and selling stocks. The question then is, what do you use to determine when to buy or sell a stock? Indicators? charts? what?

I just keep a portfolio of 14 stocks. When one of my stocks reaches its sell target, I sell it and replace it with a new one.

what if certain stocks never reach your sell target? Like if one of your stocks drops 50-60% you'd be in quite a bit of trouble. You'd be sticking around for a pretty big loss.

Not necessarily..if it's a good company that makes money quarter after quarter, the stock price usually recovers.
