Thank you, I missed that. Strike my previous reply. I am now interested in
UBRG < here is why you need tight stops and to wait before stopping twice!!
Could you enlarge on this, Jeff? It almost seems as if you had a tight stop here but did not use it. Do you actually have a plan, or you are just making things up as you go? Or what have I missed? I frankly did not see the use of a penny thread, and now I see what is becoming of it, I think I am fully justified.

I did get stopped out and instead of waiting for the dust to settle I went back in and again got stopped out. Entered the next day at a much lower number.

Of course I have a plan and it is very similar to dollar stocks with stops and all. One difference is the entry/exit timing, have to be a bit more cautious because a few cent move in either direction means a much higher%

Lotto plays have different meanings to me and are not something I would be putting a big % of my portfolio into:
SIRI I am green but the fundamentals aren't good. I am hoping for a buyout but if it files BK I'm out with a small profit.
USFM Sounds like a great company but until they implement their strategy it will probably hover in the same area. I am willing to wait on it and if something bad happens no great loss, if it goes to .06 I doubled and will place a stop and/or take half off the table and let it go long.

Does this make any sence to you guys? Makes a lot more sence than to go long in FNM/FRE before the bailout without a stop.

I wouldn't put a stop on it, I have 3500 shares and willing to wait. If it goes to zero I'm out 100 bux. If it goes to .50 I did pretty good.

I am new to this world. Like the person that started this thread, I am starting with about $1000. For the pennies, are you using a paid service? I would greatly appreciate any guidance.

I have been coming here for about 6 months off and on. I finally signed up and yes, you guys are all HUGE. I did see a couple of posts that mentioned sources, sites, etc for pennies. I have always invested in mutual funds. Recently I bought some stock in 5 Dogs of the Dow and have been crushed. I am here to learn and become Huge.

                  Short refr

karel is right penny stocks are tough ......and I would strongly advise AGAINST buying any OTCBB stock ......MOST ARE CONTROLLED BY THE SHARKS, and You cannot put stops in to protect yourself, and this could result in heavy losses. This would be analagous to entering a GAY bar in SanFrancisco ......and dropping your wallet ........if ya do ....kick it to a safe place and then pick it up LOL!

ANYWAY REFR appears to be a good short right now .....not a buy and hold but I feel ya can make a few bucks shorting this one ....WHY ....look at the chart .

Note the downward trend , the MAC D Black line crossing over the red, RED candles falling towards the bottom Bollinger band , The chaiken money flow indicating money is flowing OUT. Is it a SURE thing?.......of course not , and if you do short remember to set a stop to protect you if the stock shoots up! Good Luck!

Boy, I really am a rookie. A short means I am hoping that the stock goes down right?? So in my trading account, my order would be to "sell short" X amount of shares. Then when it drops low enough, I would enter an order "Buy to cover"? I guess my education needs to start somewhere, might as well be now.

You are correct. To short a stock, you simply sell it first. Then you buy it back "to cover."

Everybody has to start somewhere. This is a great place to start. Ask anybody any question, and you'll get a good answer here. Only good people hang out here. So ask away!

I think I will sit out REFR this time. It said my account does not have a margin agreement and cannot short stocks under $5. Plus it asked to enter stop, stop-limit, or trailing stop for the order type and you have to enter limit and stop prices. I don't know enough about that yet. I'll have to wait until someone comes across a good stock that looks to go up. Thank you!!!

Probably old news but IMGG has been getting alot of hype.
An "FDA approval coming!"play. Not. I dunno....I've been in and out of it like 3 times and lost each time. I'm done with it. I was in at .60 and it's at 1.20 so it was there to be made. These FDA approval coming things are BS to me but hey DYAX got it last week & I didn't believe the hype there. I guess it can happen

I was familiar with the CEO of JBII, before he took this company public. This guy is no scam artist. I expect some big things from JBII.
