    GM Shareholders WIPED OUT!

So much for the OBAMA bailout plans of GM . If GM does not get US approval to sell its asserts by JULY 10 ......ALL Government funding will be cut off ,and shareholders will be left .......wiped out! I say GM's Position is Precarious at Best . With sales off 37% for 1st 5 months of 2009 ......GM is like a man who has one foot on a banana peel , and the other foot in the grave LOL!

Obama is just pushing the judge to approve the sale. they will never cut the funds of GM this far in. Its hard ball, Chicago style negotiating.

btw how much were share holders getting in this plan? I didn't hear much about it before GM shares were taken off trading boards.

It's the gambler's fallacy: throwing good money at bad because you feel pot commited when the proper play is to fold. Obama would never strongarm the private sector (try saying that with a straight face). The odds of the government (i.e. taxpayers) getting a return on their investment is less than 1%.

GM used to make great cars. Something happened along the way. Maybe they got arrogant. Oh well, I coudn't afford my dream muscle car when they made them. Now I don't want what they offer.

They got complacent - that's what happened. Nothing can justify the junk they produced (along with F and Chrysler) in between late 70s to early 2000s. The big 3 started manufacturing some decent cars in the 2000s,but it was too little, too late. The government should have never helped these bozos in the first place, back in september last year, it was all about save GM or else America is doomed theme, and a good 50 billion $ down the lane, GM did end up filing for bankruptcy,America is still up and running and people are still buying new cars. At the end if it all, only folks who got shafted are the tax payers..but whats new in that.

If GM goes down, does anyone think Ford will greatly benefit or are they at the bathroom door too?

Look at today's auto sales figures, and that'll answer your question.Ofcourse, F has been benefited because of its rivals bankruptcies, but they have also been more intelligent in re-structuring their companies a good 2 years before it dawned upon its Detroit rivals, not to mention Ford has better products than GM or Chrysler today. The euro Ford-Mondeo look alike 2010 Fusion is out,so is the new Taurus, the little Fiesta, again a EU model looks stunning..atleast in near future i am bullish about F.

                  The Cadillac CTS

My friend recently purchased a brand new CTS loaded for a cool 50K . Approximately 6 months after pruchase , he tried to start the car but the battery was dead as Casey's Nuts . Apparently there was some fault with the switch in the steering column which prevented the accessory mode from shutting down. My friend called On Star , but because it was a snowy day in NJ they could not send help for several hours. The manager of the resturant did help him jumpstart the car, and he drove it to the dealership Brogan Cadilliac in Totowa NJ. He did get a free loaner car , and about 10 days later his car was fixed . They replaced the steering coumn switch ,some computer module, and gave him a brand new battery. What BS .....spend 50K for a car ,,and then wonder if it will start? I always bought American , but after buying my Hyundai Sonata I will never look back . It is almost 4 yrs old and I never had any problems !

I cant view GM in any of my trading charts anymore, but bloom berg still lists it in their bottom banner (it was 84c yesterday according to that banner). Are there gm shares still trading in pink sheets (or somewhere else)?

They are already benefitting. Chrysler will go out of business. GM will survive I believe, but they will be much smaller. Ford has a CEO that is going to ensure their sucess.

And besides, I bought and sold earlier this year for +205% !
