My IIC 100 which I update monthly uses recent eps as well as projections.
One complaint that I consistently hear is that I list too many stocks. However, I'm listing different criteria for each scan...so I tell people to just look at the scans that they find interesting.
I'll think about what type of scan I can come up with for the longer term investors...thx...Doug"Trade What Is Happening...Not What You Think Is Gonna Happen"

News On Body Armor
Vests pose risk, firm says
By John Flesher
The Associated Press
Posted June 23 2005
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. · The nation's largest supplier of bullet-resistant vests to law enforcement agencies is urging its customers to replace vests containing the fiber Zylon, saying they may not be safe.
Second Chance Body Armor said Wednesday it had sent notices to police agencies nationwide. The warning affects about 58,000 Tri-Flex vests and an additional 40,000 Ultima and Ultimax vests with Performance Pacs, the company said in a statement.
New research shows that vests made even partially with Zylon "may fail to perform and result in serious injury or death," it said.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the parent company of Pompano Beach-based Point Blank Body Armor Inc., which makes body armor for the U.S. armed forces, police and federal security agencies, said the company is "quite concerned" about the Second Chance notification.
"We're waiting to get more information," said Ish Burks, a spokesman for DHB Industries Inc., based in Westbury, N.Y. "We're still looking at it. We do use Zylon, but on a very limited basis.
"Everyone in the industry uses Zylon," but safety issues with the material could depend on how it is woven or applied into body armor, Burks said.
In February, Point Blank agreed with the Southern States Police Benevolent Association Inc. to exchange certain models of antiballistic vests containing Zylon for other vests. The agreement followed a suit filed by the PBA in Broward County Circuit Court.
Point Blank said the company had begun to exchange the vests before the lawsuit. It denied all allegations and any liability to the plaintiffs.
Second Chance, based in Central Lake, Mich., is undergoing reorganization in federal bankruptcy court after being targeted in numerous lawsuits claiming its vests made with Zylon are defective.
The company said it would ask the court to devise a procedure for vest owners to make claims arising from the latest warnings.
"While Second Chance has not received any reports of field failures of the products in question, we felt it was our obligation to report these new research findings immediately," said Matt Davis, the company's vice president of sales and marketing.
"The safety and well-being of all the officers who wear our body armor is of primary importance to Second Chance, and we strongly encourage all officers to replace ballistic vests that contain Zylon as quickly as possible," he said.
Second Chance began making vests with Zylon in 1998, saying it was lighter and more comfortable than other fibers used in body armor. The company announced in 2003 it had concerns about the durability of Zylon vests and recalled more than 130,000 of them made entirely with Zylon.
The latest notice pertains to vests containing a mixture of Zylon and other materials.
Lawsuits against Second Chance have been filed in at least 11 states, and federal and state investigations have been started. Seven suits have been filed by state governments.Ray Long

Cubist Pharmaceuticals (nasdaq: CBST - news - people ) said results from a Phase III trial for Cubicin met its primary endpoints, and said it expects to file a supplemental new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration before the end of the year. Shares gained more than 13% in late trading on the news. Last March, Morgan Stanley said positive Phase III data would likely provide "meaningful acceleration" to sales. The research firm added, "If better than our expectations, the detailed data, to be presented at ICAAC [Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy] in September, could provide upside to our estimates.""Trade What Is Happening...Not What You Think Is Gonna Happen"
