I noticed that in recent weeks (since ~2/06/06) there are less stocks contained in both the IIC100 and the IBD 100. At first there seemed to be ~26-28 stocks that overlapped but recently the average looks <20. Is this coincidence or is there a reason for this change i.e. different scan parameters

Yes...in fact I commented on that last week...but it was on another forum. Besides the fact that the Combo List has been shrinking...The number of stocks under $15 on the IIC 100 has more than doubled in recent weeks from a normal ~15 to 33 this week. I believe IBD has a $15 minimum whereas I don't.

I would attribute this to the smaller caps outperforming this year. Notce that the RUT is +11.66% vs. SP 500 +4.29%. The Naz is up a little over 4% and the SP Mid Cap 400 is +6.5% (I am using the open on 1/3 rather than the year-end close to calculate these %'s). Perhaps IBD is not as interested in the smaller caps?

Also, I have not changed my criteria...But maybe they have???

Another thing has been happening too...Normally, I get about 140-150 stocks when I scan for the IIC 100...Not long ago I was getting over 180. But this week only turned up 119...last week 112 and the week prior only 115. This got me to thinking...If I get under 100(Which has never happened since I started this list in October 2004)...What do I do? I could loosen the parameters I guess. The alternative would be to have less than 100 stocks...But the IIC 97 doesn't have much of a ring to it.
