I got rid of CUP at +10%...Yeah...My timing was bad...Could have possibly made up to about 75%...But who needs it?...Canadian Mining Cos. and South American Dictators...A Volatile Combo not worth the risk IMO...IIC

Today marked the 8th straight down day for the NAZ....The Naz came into existence in 1971...Since that time there have been six longer streaks...In 1982 we saw two 9 day dn streaks...We experienced three 10 day down streaks in 1974, 1975 and 1984 respectively...But the worst was in 1984...16 down days in a row!!!...Doug(IIC)

PS...The early-mid '70's were really bad years...That is the primary reason I did not follow the family footsteps and become a broker or some affiliated job like that(I was in my early 20's...b. 1953)...The early-mid 80's were the start of the GREAT MOVE...circa 1984.

If I had been born 5 yrs earlier or 11 years later...I probably would have gone for it...Timing is Everything!!!

Doug, Hope you understand what I'm asking,my money Is In an IRA If I buy and sell In 1=2 or 3 days my money Is held as unsettled cash. Am I In danger of losing my money? I have traded like this In the past and at the end of 3 business days received my money. In markets like this It's better to have my money held then lost. Have a good day this should be your kind of market.

Not sure I understand...In a cash account if you sell a stock it takes 3 days for the sale to settle...You can immediately use those unsettled funds to purchase another stock after you sell the first one but you are not permitted to sell the second stock you bot w/ unsettled funds until the first sale settles. Regulation T.

However, I have done it and I got a stern warning not to do it again or my account would be restricted for 90 days...Not sure if every broker gives you a second chance though...Best to wait the 3 days before you use the money again.

Why no, thought you day traded? Thanks for you answer thats what I wanted to know.Would rather have the money tied up for three days , sell and buy another or buy the same one back when It goes down. Better than buying and holding for three to four days and It goes down below my buy point.or am I just drinking to much beer?
