I need real time quotes for free. I want them without opening an account with a broker. What would the stock market encyclopedia tell me to do?

Just checking in from the High Seas...The stock market encyclopedia would tell you that there is no such thing anymore on individual stocks.

Some Indices, metals... yes...stocks no...FreeRealTime.com used to be free...But I'm not aware of any that do it anymore.

Got back and saw the last 2 hours...picked up some lunch money on GTI on a dt

NBB...Here's an idea...I know you said you were looking for FREE Realtime Quotes w/o opening up an account w/ a Broker...As I said I don't know of any Free sites left anymore.

However, there is a way to get RealTime Quotes and actually get paid for receiving them.

However, it does involve opening a brokerage account:

Open an account at Scottrade for $500.

Never trade in the account...There are no fees or trading activity minimums.

You get RealTime Quotes and they pay you interest on your 500 bux.

Admittedly the interest rate is peanuts...But it is about the same as the rate CitiBank pays on their Standard Savings Account.

Actually he is! I use Scottrade Elite (download it, NBB) and get real time quotes on every stock list and also on demand. Super service. River

Sold VIT from Thursday +.52

Looks like I sold VIT too soon...but I got a little over my
target...Traded ERES but I ran out of time before I had to leave this
morn so I bailed +.20...DT'd JRJC +.44...Trimmed ASIA which I've held
since 2/15/08 in the 13.70's for +1.81.

Bot QLD and held it over...Doug

Trimmed and sold ONNN avg. +.23...Of course it keeps going but I ran outta time

Traded CDS for a whoppin' .06sh
Bot OFI...Have a stop on

Made .13 on IPHS and .045 on OFI...combine that with +.15 on GFA and +.06 earlier on CDS...I wouldn't call it a stellar performance but better than losin'...Doug
