    Eln

Hello everyone! It's been a long while. Hope you all have been getting wealthier and healthier.

I've maintained interest in ELN all these years and maintain hope for the future on this both for their Tysabri drug and their Altzheimer drug still in pipeline. What is the present sentiment of the group on this. Input is much appreciated.
I'm also holding some precious metals and a few mutuals and looking at some ETF's.
    Thanks.

No...I have no idea...All I watch are the Q's and their Ultras and components...Not because I am not interested in stocks but because I only have so much time...So I just concentrate on what I know...Best, Doug

          My Two Cents on ELN

Hi, NoShady. I've never owned ELN, but as a long time holder of Imclone (IMCL) (which was finally bought out) I became familiar with ELN through peripheral reading about monoclonal antibodies. I haven't followed ELN or its partner Biogen Idec (BIIB) over the past few years, and you could probably tell me more about recent developments than I could tell you.

I see that ELN is having a legal dispute with BIIB over some arrangement ELN made with Johnson & Johnson(JNJ). As I found out first-hand with IMCL, these kinds of things can drag on and negatively affect share price for years. For that reason, I personally would not be buying another small-to-mid cap pharmaceutical company anytime soon, UNLESS I was intimately familiar with all the relevant details and had good reason to believe the future share price or potential sale price was significantly higher than that at the present.

I know Tysabri is just one of ELN's products, so that is a plus for ELN.

I guess the bottom line, as I see it, is that non-large-cap pharmaceuticals require an extra time-investment in due diligence. If you read everything you can find about it and still have a really good feeling that it is underpriced, then I'd hang onto it if I were you.

I realize this is kind of a "political" anwser (i.e. non-answer) and probably not what you were seeking, but I thought I'd share my two cents worth anyway.

                    Hi Doug, Webs and Rob.

Thanks for the input. I have a very strong faith in tysabri and believe that it will be a blockbuster. The question is who will hold the rights to it at that time. Meanwhile, I see that BIIB and ELN have made amends.
I don't have the time to follow stocks closely anymore and need to keep it simple with a view on the longer term. Actually, it drives me nuts to watch a stock day in and day out. I'm better keeping my hands off a bit more.
ETF's agree with me too for the most part.

I was introduced to ELN through this board in 2004. ELN was a major portion of my portfolio in 2005 and 2008.

I am still holding ELN stocks and options. ELN is in stronger position at present. Next few years are going to be very interesting for ELN.

                        Good Luck!
