Ah yes a FLAT

My parents were immigrants who had come to the US from Europe , and I still remember the 3 room cold water FLAT that we lived in during my early years. All we had was a black stove in the kitchen as a source of heat , and windows that iced up with cold blasts of air going through as if the glass panes were non existent. I remember well lugging up a 3 gallon oil can from the basement to our 3rd floor apt to supply fuel for the black stove.
We managed to survived and through hard work and the American Dream my parents bought our 1st house, a lovely 3 bedroom ranch in a new development for CASH ! When I left the old apartment flat ........I looked back and said to myself ........"I will Never Go Back To that again" , and I never have!
Yes apartments or flats are fine .....but there is nothing like your own home. I don't currently live in a mansion , but my 4 bedroom , 3 bath home in a great community has served me well!
Thank God for the American Dream , I only hope that my children , nephews and nieces are still able to share that dream!
